Arielle Laure Maxime Sonnery de Fromental (born April 27, 19571) is a French-American actress, model, & singer, known by Arielle Dombasle, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Callie Basset, wife of Charlie Basset (played by Ted Nugent) who romances drug dealers (including Crockett) only to have Charlie kill them and bury their cars and bodies in the episode "Definitely Miami".

Career[]

Dombasle was born in Norwich, Connecticut2. She was raised by her grandparents in Mexico after her mother died. She began a singing and acting career after studying at the Conservatoire international de musique de Paris in Mexico, then moved to Paris, where she began acting in French films in 1978. Her first American appearance was in 1979's Tess, then made her American TV debut in the mini-series Lace and its sequel Lace II (with Walter Gotell), followed by another mini-series, Sins, and her last US movie appearance in 1986's The Boss' Wife. The remainder of Dombasle's career has been spent acting, singing, producing, writing and directing French films. Dombasle appeared in the eighth season of the French version of Dancing WIth The Stars in 2017 (eliminated third).

Personal Life[]

Dombasle married Dr. Phillippe Albou in 1976 until their divorce in 1985, after which she married Bernard-Henri Levy, a French philosopher & writer, in 1993, and she has two step-children, Antonin-Balthazar Lévy and Justine Lévy.
