Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (May 22, 1859 - July 7, 1930) was a human author who resided in his native Scotland and England in the 19th and early 20th centuries. His most famous works were the Sherlock Holmes short stories and novels, which remained popular well into the 24th century. (TNG episode: "Lonely Among Us")
