Hello, Wikia Community Central. This blog was written just to share my experience, and it is not related to Wikia. I recently visited New Orleans, Louisiana on vacation. Perhaps the highlight of the trip was a visit to the abandoned Six Flags in the city that closed for Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and never reopened. Floodwaters rose 6 feet or more, and remained in the park for more than two weeks.
The Six Flags before the storm was struggling, and the $32.5 million in damage forced the company to close the park for good. Renewed interest has been mild, however, the idea of opening the park for business once again is simply a lost cause considering the deterioration and initial damage of the park. Enjoy the photos I took, and sorry for some of the photos that have pretty bad quality.
A theater in the park, the floor is unsafe to walk on and the projector screen is shredded badly.
A gutted retail shop. Sorry for the bad quality.
The entrance area. It has been blocked off, so we had to find other means of entry.
An Entertainment Hall. The contents have been stolen.
The Cool Zone. The interior is in ruins.

Closed shops in the park.
A kitchen. Nobody wanted to take the broken equipment in here.
More closed shops and attractions.
