Here are the latest technical updates on Fandom. Keep in mind that our system updates happen every Tuesday and Thursday - today's notes are for tomorrow's site update. Also note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.

Notable Changes

Recent mobile app updates are listed on Apps Technical Updates, and detailed site CSS-related updates can be found at

  • Social media links in email footers will now link localized versions, where available.
  • The 'NewWindowLinks' extension was recently disabled. The main functionality was removed back in April - remaining examples should be switched to normal link code.
  • We are dropping full support for Internet Explorer 11 due to very low usage levels. However, as we've done in the past, we will still look into reports of issues on older browsers - so please do send in bug reports to Special:Contact/bug. It is likely that the Edge browser (which replaces IE in Windows 10) will be added to the support list in the future.

Known Issues

  • October 21: We, along with many other websites, are experiencing disruption due to web infrastructure DDOS attack. While our services are generally unaffected, the issue may affect your ability to access the site or use some features. Our team are working to mitigate the issues as much as we can. More information can be found here.
