Technical Update: June 25, 2013

Here are the latest technical updates at Wikia. Keep in mind that our system updates happen every Wednesday, so we’re posting this on a Tuesday to give you advance notice. Also note that we change hundreds of tiny details every week, so these are just the highlights.

Major Bugs Fixed

• Exact matches for search terms will no longer miss out the namespace on the results. This fix is already live.
• Video searches will no longer sometimes list photos in results. This fix is already live.
• The Forum Activity module was noting all changes to threads; it now only notes creation of threads and new replies.

Other Notable Changes

• Our YouTube conversion script has finished converting Videos added to the wiki via the YouTube extension to regular video Files. Approximately 34,000 tags were converted, with most page edits attributed to WikiaBot.

Select Known Issues

• Wiki logos that are less than full width (250px) appear stretched in Special:Chat.
