Hey everyone!
Check out the latest Technical Updates since October 7, 2022. We’ll continue to update the editor community on bug fixes and product development updates on a bi-weekly basis!
Notable Changes:[]
Link Suggest[]
- We received reports of the link suggest dropdown showing an empty link suggestions box when scrolling down the editor. That issue is now resolved and you can seamlessly scroll without a blank box being left behind after selecting a suggestion and when scrolling outside the editor.
- We also resolved the dropdown menu positioning in Link Suggest to ensure seamless scrolling outside the editor.
Other[]
- Reference cite errors now appear in the 2017 editor preview!
Known Issues:[]
The following are known bugs (or areas of improvement) that are currently in progress and that we hope to have released by the time of the next Technical Update:
Interactive Maps[]
- Historically Gamepedia wikis will be able to use custom marker icons on their Interactive Maps! This will be fixed by early next week.
Mobile Editor[]
- The clickable edit window within the mobile editor will be larger and the toolbar is easier to activate for your mobile editing experience. This is one of a series of mobile editing improvements you can expect throughout the rest of the year.
Development Updates:[]
Mobile Theming[]
- Following the successful test of mobile theming on 15 wikis and the feedback we received from those communities, we’re excited to make mobile theming available to all wikis starting next week. This will be an opt-in rollout, with mobile theming becoming available in your existing Theme Designer.
Mobile Editing[]
- Work on enabling moderation tools on the mobile skin has started. This will allow admins and mods to be able to access moderation tools without having to View Full Site to use the desktop skin.
Discussions AbuseFilter[]
- Discussions AbuseFilter is released! You can learn more about this feature in the Discussions AbuseFilter blog post, its development, and how to use it.
Discussions Moderation[]
- Backend work on post/reply history is in progress and close to completion. Design work is also in progress, and early designs have been shared with members of the Fandom Stars program for early feedback.
- Work is in progress for reported post notifications.
If there’s anything you still think needs to be fixed that hasn’t yet, please be sure to either contact your Wiki Representative or, if your wiki doesn’t have one, send us a bug report!
I'm a huge fan of Law & Order, VEEP, and a long list of anime.
