It has been an incredible summer for Fandom with the anticipated return of Fandom to San Diego Comic-Con! After a three-year hiatus, we were excited to immerse ourselves in the entertainment space and amplify community members in a new and engaging way. With the recent debut of our creator recognition program, Fandom Stars, it was the perfect time to do something we hadn’t done before. Before, our presence at Comic-Con allowed us to get the latest and greatest news to our community through in-depth interviews with cast members and show runners. This year, we had the pleasure of putting fans at the forefront of the action to experience comic-con like never before.
Four members of Fandom Stars were able to join us for a packed weekend filled with press interviews, celebrity meet and greets, exploring the convention floor, local news stories, and walking the gold carpet. The Stars became fan correspondents and quickly became the talk of San Diego Bayfront. Without the questions presented by the community, this wouldn’t have been possible. A few stars even made a live television appearance on CBS 8 San Diego. They expressed love for their fandom and the depth and breadth of content.
