Hey everyone!
We’re hosting a community celebration in honor of Asian American Pacific Islander Month. This year’s theme will focus on Breaking the Mold as we dismantle stereotypes in the entertainment industry and showcase the breadth and depth of Asian culture through gaming, movies, television, music, and more. We plan on spotlighting Asian-American & Pacific Island creators: focusing on elevating impact on Fandom the platform and within fandom writ large. We also aim to connect with creators as our fans learn about the many accomplishments of the Asian-American & Pacific Islander community and explore what “breaking the mold” means.
Asian American Pacific Islander Month Observance[]
Asian Pacific Islander Month began in the late 1970s and was initially known as Asian American Heritage Week. After 10 years, congress finally observed AAPI Month as a full month-long celebration in 1990. It’s crucial to celebrate AAPI Month as Asian Americans have contributed significantly to American culture—science, sports, activism, and entertainment.

AAPI actors, directors, and creators are trailblazers in entertainment. The stories brought to life have introduced the world to rich and beautiful cultures that span across generations and we’re excited to honor the individuals who have shaped the way we consume media.
