Hey everyone!
We hope you’re enjoying the celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with us! We continue to amplify the voices of community members and those inspired by Fandom's community and invite them to share more about themselves, their personal stories, experience with Fandom, and their creative journey. You’ve heard from leaders within the Fandom community, but today we’re excited to introduce a talented actor and amazing individual who contributes to quite a few of your fandoms.
Today, we're featuring Apphia Yu, director, producer, and voice actor! She dabbles in a bit of art, streaming and D&D, but you probably know her from her work from Assassination Classroom as Rio Nakamura, Victorique de Blois in GOSICK, and Hanako in Kemono Michi: Rise Up. Apphia’s featured in an extensive list of anime (dubs) and games. She even released a visual novel of her murder-mystery series, Kansei. She does it all! Apphia’s voice is widely recognized throughout live-action (dub), anime (dub), and video games, and we had the opportunity to chat with her and hear more about her passion for community, culture, and empowering creators.

Creating space to amplify your voice and uplift others can be difficult, but Apphia has paved a way through the industry to be her most authentic self and share that with others. Throughout her career, she has worked to tell the story of works we love in a way that can be heard, understood, and appreciated by others and not dilute the original story. The power of visibility is creating spaces to tell original stories to the world in a way that can be understood and honored. Those relatable stories are confidence builders, dismantle invisible inequities, and break stereotypes. When we see one, we see all!
