As 2021 draws to a close, let's look back at a very busy year for Fandom and our wiki communities, complete with Editors of the Year! Here is This Year at Fandom!

Community Central

Hi there, everyone! Hope this finds you well today, wherever you may be in the world. It's Tuesday evening here in San Francisco, but maybe it's already Wednesday morning in your part of the world? I say that, because sometimes it's easy to forget just how international the Wikia community is, with community members in practically every time zone in the world, and from all corners of the earth! I absolutely adore "meeting" community members from different places, and learning about what they love on Wikia, because it's such a great way to learn about new communities. So today, it's a special treat to be able to introduce you to Miyanlove, from Malaysia!

Miyanlove is an Admin in the Natsume Yuujinchou community, and is on her way to becoming quite a prolific editor, with close to 4,000 edits so far within that community alone! Miyanlove has thousands of other edits to her name on other communities as well, such as the Marine Wikia, the Nyan Koi Wikia, the Night World Wikia, and more. Read all about these and Miyanlove's other Featured Wikias, in her own words, below!

"Well as for me, I'm a cat -person, living with 5 kitties at home, with ages ranging from 2 1/2 years old and 9 1/2 being the oldest. So it's natural for me to choose the Cats Wikia as one of my favorites.

And, since I love anime too, that means I enjoy the Nyan Koi Wikia, and the Natsume Yuujinchou Wikia. The Nyan Koi Wikia is the community where I made my first edit, and I love anime series featuring kitties as the main pillar of the plot. Even Nyamsus, the oldest female cat in the series, reminds me of my own kitty, Queen, being aloof and everything. But that’s just cats being cats. And then there's Nyanko-sensei in Natsume Yuujinchou, he's simply adorable. Although, that's undeniably why I love Natsume. If you like Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki, then I definitely suggest you go and check out Natsume Yuujinchou.

I like to read about mythology, too. It's always interesting to read about other mythologies around the world, and with the help of Wikia's templates and such, it just makes the presentation of mythologies more colourful, just like the Mythology Wikia itself. Plus, everyone can help contribute, too! Natsume Yuujinchou, mentioned above, contains several Japanese myths, like Kitsune (Fox spirit), kappa, tengu....just to name a few.

I love reading, too, mostly within the young adult fantasy genre, so I enjoy the Night World Wikia. Did you know that the Night World series was created by the same author that created the Vampire Diaries series? Also, a nice place to get book recommendations is definitely the Book Club Wikia.

The Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Wikia is another favorite, its simply because it's one of my favourite anime series. Other than that, I’m also working with User:2Actimv on the Topo Wikia and the Malaysia Wikia. Both wikias mostly focus on maps, languages and most importantly, the tourism factor. There are many great places which we can explore, and with these two wikis, we’re trying to cover as much as possible on that topic."

Are you a power user who enjoys being active in the Wikia community and who would like to take part in this new blog series? Please leave me a message on my message wall and let me know (in a few words) why you would like to participate and what communities you'd like to feature.
