Dear Wikia Staff
I've just noticed a handy little feature on one of the few wikis I still frequented. While the page starts out looking cramped and unreadable, one little click of a button hides the sidebar and I can read long pages without wanting to inflict horrible injury on the nearest infant. I thought "surely this is a workaround", but no, lo and behold I even had it on my wiki without any requests on my part. Add this onto the part about the new labs feature and I have to say one thing.
Wikia, we cool.
...Well no, I still have major issues about you clutching at my content like an obsessive-compulsive eagle if I dared to leave entirely, but I can work around that. I'll just upload artwork that isn't at it's full quality and release information as it be…
A response to all the "quit whining" comments.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t been on here as much lately, there’s been a lot of reasons. Job, the new skin, hipplanting into a moving vehicle and dealing with the recovery, you know, life intervening as it does.
However, when I return I happen to find that a good number of the old editors have left. Surprise surprise, some of the best editors left and now the site is awash with new editors who blindly go along whatever the staff say and generally make a mess of the place. There are some exceptions though, like the Assassin’s creed wiki. They’ve managed to take a rubbish skin and a fanbase that usually consists of mentally deficient bros who have scientifically endeavored to find a way for Ezio to teabag his victims… and made it into a readable…
How Oasis could have been good.
I comment around on other people’s blogs about Oasis a lot, generally to debate with the people who are on Wikia’s side, and to encourage people who are closer to Awa on what they can do to take action. However one of the most frequent comments is something along the lines of “The skin was a horrible idea in the first place, and it’ll never be as good as Monaco!” Well, yes and no. Right now it IS a horrible skin that’s worse then Monaco, but it once could have, and can be fixed into something better. It could and can even be better then Monaco, no sarcasm. “Well then, are you some kind of fancy-pants graphic designer that could show me this?” they say, even if it’s only in the straw-man arguments that I have in my mind. And that answer is……
A down and dirty comparison of the skins
With the approaching Oasis apocalypse right around the corner (Oasisocolypse? Wikiadammerung? Oh screw it), more and more wiki-toadies are coming out of the woodwork to say "I DON'T SEE ANYTHING RONG WITH TEH SKIN". Sadly things like Logic are a bit difficult to convey when people are shouting "teal deer" all the time, and for the users who come afterwards and don't know why there's so many abandoned wikis laying around, I figured it was time for some charts.

Kercopypasta'd from someone's blog, or: my Feelings about the bs with wikia
"I would have to disagree on being able to "walk out" at any time. Wikia is holding our contributions hostage.Creative commons says that your work is free to use by the community if you agree to it's use by the aforementioned parties. While things like the articles are a sticky situation (if multiple people contribute), pictures have an easily identifiable source.
And yet trying to delete your images (or all of the information that you've only worked on) is considered vandalism and they'll ban you and reverse your deletions.
