As a young student schools seemed to be focused either on presenting topics in such an esoteric way on the one hand or to train students for a job that it became impossible to find classes, courses, instructors and schools that could fill my desire to obtain formal credit to peruse the knowledge I wanted to have. Consequently I turned to self-study and purchased all of the books listed for a curriculum entitled Independent Interdisciplinary Studies. I enjoyed Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series so this curriculum also suited me for that reason. To make a long story short, after two years of college when I could not find a professor interested in multiple state logic I decided not to give up my interest but to peruse it apart from an adviser and to sacrifice academic credit instead.
