David Beerman is a Video Editor working in Los Angeles for over 12 Years. In 2007 he began working in television commercials and has since expanded into TV Shows, Documentary Features, and Narrative features.
Early Life[]
David grew up in Chicago, Illinois and went to the University of Iowa. Shortly after graduating he begin his career in Los Angeles as an assistant editor.
Commercial Work[]
David got his start in the industry working on commercials.
He was recognized for his work with Marshalls and Sears. The Clio awards recognized his work from the Super Bowl spot “First Draft Ever.”
Film and TV[]
From 2009 - 2011 he worked as an assistant editor DVD extra features on DC animated titles such as Wonder Woman: Daughter of Myth, Wonder Woman: A Subversive Dream, Dinner with DCU and Special Guest Star Kevin Conroy, A Test of Minds: The Psychology of Superman and Batman, DCU: The New World, Robin: The Story of Dick Grayson, The New Gods, Superman Now, Heart of Vengeance: Returning Batman to His Roots, and Batman Year One: A Conversation with DC Comics.
He also worked on other DVD extras such as Behind the Tunes: Mars Attacks! Life on the Red Planet with My Favorite Martian, Behind the Tunes: Razzma-Taz: Giving the Tasmanian Devil His Due, Behind the Tunes: The Ralph Phillips Story: Living the American Daydream, Snoopy's Home Ice: The Story of the Redwood Empire Ice Arena, You're Groovy, Charlie Brown: A look at Peanuts, Supernatural and the Quest for the Soul, and Vince Guaraldi: The Maestro of Menlo Park.
In 2012 he edited a short film about a group of women in Hawaii crossing one of the most difficult channels in the world to reconnect with their roots called "The Third Crossing."
In 2014 David was a cutting assistant on the feature film The Bronze which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015. The movie starred Melissa Rauch, Sebastian Stan, Thomas Middleditch, Gary Cole, and Cecily Strong.
In 2017 he was an editor on The Pirates of Somalia directed by Bryan Buckley starring Al Pacino, Evan Peters, Barkhad Abdi, and Melanie Griffith. The movie was originally called "Dabka" and it premiered at the Tribecca Film Festival in 2017.
In 2018 worked on a short film spoof of the movie "Call Me By Your Name" which was called "Call Me By Your Maid." It won best film at The Toscars festival in 2018. It later played at the Hollywood Comedy Shorts Film Festival in 2019.
In 2018 he also edited the documentary Day One about the lives of refugee students living in St. Louis Missouri. It premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival, won grand prize for best documentary feature at the 2019 Culver City Film Festival, and was most recently played at the United Nations High Council Refugee Hong Kong Charity Film Festival. It is also playing on PBS stations around the country.
From 2019 - 2020 he worked on the Netflix's "The Chef Show" starring Roy Choi and Jon Favreau. The series was also directed by Jon Favreau.

In 2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, David started a company that takes families home videos and pictures to turn them into short stories.
