Maybe I'll start a wiki blog here? It's easy enough with monthly calendar templates too...Or what about a Wikicity place for blogging?
Also running a wiki on my own hard-drive for note-taking...I hope Firefox comes packaged with it in the future, and made accessible as a plug-in...Potentially very useful for correlating one's notes with websites (e.g., as run in the sidebar, especially if coordinated through a user script for Greasemonkey)...

Possible future work on sites I know to exist[]

I am interested in possibly contributing to Mac, Mozcom, Beijing, (since I'm here for another month, though I'd like to check into wherever I move next--probably Shenzhen), World Citizen and investigating into supporting, or starting, if such sites don't already exist at Wikicities, I haven't checked really yet, the following...

General interest wikis I'd like to see established[]

Topically arranged, well-organized skeletons developed for general interest wikis (not specific to any topic, though linking in the relevant sections to any already-existing dedicated wikis on the subject) dedicated to:
- allowing people to collaboratively write articles or do original research, describe one's theories (even the most mundane), write opinions/reviews and other POV
- a general how-to/tips&tricks hub
- prediction-making wiki (futurist)
- a FAQ wiki (for frequent or curiosity raising questions that might not be as readily found at Wikipedia)
- a link repository wiki (could also categorize individual links)
- a hub for collaboration to find like-minded individuals (where a Wikicity did not already exist for the topic or an existing one didn't allow such activities) or to host on one wiki local and organizational wikis for small groups (that didn't need or couldn't start their own)
- a potentially massive contact database wiki (by school attended, company worked at, location, genealogy, etc. to help people connect (as well as link to friends, etc. (e.g., categories such as "Friend of..." and other groupings of theirs--perhaps done by categories if not just on their own user pages)). Templates such as "Wikipedia:World government supporter" could be applied for various campaigns.
- Protologisms (newly coined words--we started one at Wiktionary, but for POV reasons as well as convenience of categorizing these newly coined words it may be better to have a dedicated wiki); besides topical categories, it would be very useful to categorize protologism by whether a word already exists with that meaning (useful so that visitors knowledeable of the field in question could add such a category, but without removing the word in case the word may be more succinct, cute, etc. at expressing the idea).
- Wikicity wiki of wikis...Other wiki of wikis exist (public?--if so, copy to it)...Will be most prominent here, but will also showcase other efforts and derivative sites; categorizing will be more powerful than mere Wikipedia:List of wikis.
I have set up a general ideas/idea snippet wiki at http://www.allyourideas.com/ which I'd like to either link from here (if that is permitted) or perhaps port over the contents to a wiki here (frankly, I prefer the lack of ads over there, but I like the visibility and better integration here). Anyhow, I've set up at the site under GFDL so it should be kosher in either direction (at least for me).
At this latter site, I've detailed one idea I particularly would like to pursue through some means here at Wikicity, namely the Chat cafe.
Also, add a "future ideas" section for likely inventions of the immediate future (which could practically be developed but which might not be implementable immediately by the common entreprenuer/inventor/engineer/etc. as with most of the other ideas at the site).
A volunteering/service wiki, especially aimed at fostering action for the poor and underprivileged--gathering ideas, resources, and collaboration opportunities (also tied to organization and especially location). One could organize wiki tutorials at a local level (finally update and complete Wikipedia:User:Brettz9/videoscript--and show how to use open source software (Firefox, etc.).

Specific topic wikis I'd be interested to see develop (in a particular fashion)[]

For specific topics, I'd be interested to see a medicine one develop, one on businesses (how businesses in general or specific businesses work from top to bottom as well as innovative uses of their product), one for technology (how to build things, make things, etc. for a common person) and a Chinese language (Mandarin) learning wiki.
I'd also like to see a consumer guide wiki develop with feature comparisons in a NPOV factual-based approach with pages dedicated not only to individual products but also to general categories (e.g., Email applications, mountain-bicycles, etc.)

Discussions with Wikia if research doesn't turn up anything?[]

I'd like to see whether Mediawiki sites could be implemented as Wikalong has done, but using Mediawiki software, and allowing specialization (perhaps through Wikicities?) such as an individual wiki's perspective of all websites, or general interest but specialized URL-related wikis independently detailing links and discussions pertaining to resources, opinions, links (webring), for the website in question.
As per the innovative Revver model that I have briefly read about, it may be interesting (though with potential pitfalls to be overcome) to see if Wikia might be interested to share some of the revenues from its Google ads with administrators/contributors in some fashion (for contributors, contributions could be periodically voted on for their quality, etc.--not ONLY by # of contributions, perhaps interfaced with the pioneering of a wiki with attributions automatically listed in a sidebar).
Working with the W3C perhaps or browser creators to allow regular XML/XHTML to contain working interwiki linking ability so that static or dynamically generated (e.g., database-driven) websites could not only write simpler code, but could intelligently create red as well as blue links to showcase whether a page had been created at a particular site yet or not...These interwiki links could (at least in part) be defined within the webpage itself (e.g., a constant), or as a universal attribute to be added to links which could be either recognized locally by browsers or force a query to a universal server (or allow read-only MySQL access to the host wiki).
Also see if W3C might be working on permanent links in XHTML which could search a central updatable database to find any redirects if a domain owner changed locations, etc (whether it would forward being determined by the date the referring document was written).
