How to make truly custom achievements for your Wiki? I don't mean just changing the little circle images inside the preset Wikia ones. For example on the Deus Es Wiki they have completely custom images. How do you do this?
Thank you for your reply, but that is obviously not what I meant. I am looking for a way to completely negate the Brown, Silver and Gold preset achievements. Currently I am only able to change the little image in the middle of these presets, but some Wikias (like the Deus Ex Wiki) have found a way around this and have 100% custom pictures. I have also asked them for a response, but nothing back so far.
Ah, thank you. It's exactly how you said. You simply change the image to what you want, that causes it to be uploaded to your local wiki database. Then you simply look for the file manually (i.e. Badge-luckyedit.png) and either upload a new version, or overwrite the old one :)
I don't think custom achievements can be created like this. You can of course just make custom badges that you just hand out and people can put on their User page. Or feature the user of the month on your wiki's main page?
Ah, that's a pity. Well, hopefully someone from Wikia will see this thread and my request for our ability to create new Badges with new/custom requirements.
I'd still like to make one where someone has to create a new page (rather than edit one) and/or do more than 1,000 keystrokes/characters in a single edit (rewarding quality edits, rather than people doing minor edits like correcting spelling and the like).
We can also now do what I was asking about back in 2012, which is that we can now contact Wikia Staff to request entirely new Badges with new requirements. Eg. Forum Activity, Blog Posts, and "Contributor of the Month".
An example of a Wiki that uses the Contributor of the Month Badge is the Elder Scrolls Wiki.
