Just wondering how many of yall have had a chance to try the game and what you think of it?
Aside from the new trend of getting access through Twitch being a bit annoying, I didn't think the game looked all that interesting while waiting for access. The art style is a bit uninspired, the gunplay didnt look quite as tight as I wish it were (similar to R6, but maybe its just a person pref... I know a lot of people love that game), and its another BR.
Actually getting to play the game was a real blast, however. In practice it starts feeling almost like an arena shooter in a ridiculously huge map. The mobility and general movement is extremely satisfying and responsive, with a ridiculous amount of verticality.
The guns feel about how I thought they would when watching. Something about this engine just feel weird to me, I guess. It could use a bit of polish, but has plenty of potential.
Twitch integration is fine. Not being a streamer or anything, all most people will get out of it are the random events.
I think the events are a great idea, but could use a bit more flavor. Today they're adding a 'Dark Haze' mode that adds a thick fog of war to the map... I think it could be more interesting to have events similar to that mode. Periodically rolling in smoke to hinder sniping teams or a 'ground is lava' event: making the ground deal damage for a time.
Rezzing system is very unique and actually fun, but I think this might be getting a little long now.
I'll just end saying that me and a few friends had a blast and played way more than I thought we would. It definitely helps how fast-paced the game is and how quickly you can get right into another match.
