  • Hello,

    I am trying to make a table such as the one in this page suitable for this and this templates, but I don't know how to make this table suitable for this template.

    How can I make this table suitable for these templates?

    Thanks for your time

    • I think your usage of the word "suitable" is incorrect, so it isn't clear what you want.

        Loading editor
    • What I would like to make is this table, using this and this templates.

        Loading editor
    • Have you tried copying the Wikipedia templates to your wiki?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, here and here.

        Loading editor
    • Those look totally different than the Wikipedia templates...

        Loading editor
    • Well, because I'm trying to match the template with table but it's being impossible.

        Loading editor
    • I probably can't help you. If you start re-writing the template before you know how it works, it will probably never work.

        Loading editor
    • So, you want me to put it with the same code as the ones I linked?

        Loading editor
    • Assuming the Wikipedia templates don't have some LUA dependency or something that won't work on FANDOM wikis, you should copy them exactly. After that, make a sandbox page with the templates in use, and then you can start changing them to try to do what you want.

    • No, it's this

        Loading editor
    • Wait, let's make it more simple, how can I make a table like this, using those templates,
      Table1
        Loading editor
    • Is this the same table as Thread:1737483?

        Loading editor
    • more or less but yeah it's the same base

        Loading editor
    • Try these: Top:

      {| class="wikitable count-rows" style="text-align: center; width=100%;"
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3;" |#
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3; width: 25%;" |Wrestler
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3;" |Reign
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3;" |Date
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3;" |Length
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3;" |Location
      ! style="background: #e3e3e3;" |Notes

      Rows:

      |-
      | scope="row" | {{#if: {{{forfeit|}}} | - | <span class="row-increment"></span>}} || {{{wrestler|}}} || {{#if: {{{forfeit|}}} | - | {{{reign|}}}}} {{#if: {{{date rows|}}} | {{!}}{{!}} rowspan="{{{date rows}}}" {{!}} {{dts|{{{year|}}}|{{{month|}}}|{{{day|}}}}}}} || {{#if: {{{forfeit|}}} | - | {{{length|}}}}} {{#if: {{{location rows|}}} | {{!}}{{!}} rowspan="{{{location rows}}}" {{!}} {{{location|}}}}} {{#if: {{{notes rows|}}} | {{!}}{{!}} align="left" rowspan="{{{notes rows}}}" {{!}} {{{notes|}}}}}{{#if: {{{close|}}} |
      {{!}}} }}

      Site CSS:

      table.count-rows {
          counter-reset: rows;
      }
      td span.row-increment::before {
          counter-increment: rows;
          content: counter(rows);
      }
        Loading editor
    • Ok, I did the css thing, the top, here and the rows, here, andI was wondering, what will be the code for this table, the other of the other thread was something like this:

       {{Championship
        |Background = green
        |#          = 20
        |Wrestler   = BxB Hulk
        |Reign      = 1
        |Date       = July 20, 2014
        |Location   = Kobe
        |Event = Kobe World Pro Wrestling Festival 2014
        |Length     = 16 Days
        |Defenses   = 0
        |Successful =
        |Notes      =
       }}

      {{Championship
         |Background = pink
         |#          = —
         |Wrestler   = Naruki Doi
         |Reign      = Provisional
         |Date       = August 5, 2014
         |Location   = Tokyo
         |Event      = Scandal Gate 2014
         |Length     = 12 Days
         |Defenses   = 0
         |Successful =
         |Notes = Defeated Hulk in a four-on-one Handicap match where is partners were Kzy, Cyber Kong and Mondai Ryu. Afterwards Doi was recognized as a "provisional" champion, pending a rematch.
        }}

      And I was wondering, how it's gonna be, will it be something like this?

      Thank you for your time

    • I've seen it, cool, thank you :)

    • It seems the table closing didn't work the way I thought it would. Try adding a blank line to the row template so it becomes this:

      |-
      | scope="row" | {{#if: {{{forfeit|}}} | - | <span class="row-increment"></span>}} || {{{wrestler|}}} || {{#if: {{{forfeit|}}} | - | {{{reign|}}}}} {{#if: {{{date rows|}}} | {{!}}{{!}} rowspan="{{{date rows}}}" {{!}} {{dts|{{{year|}}}|{{{month|}}}|{{{day|}}}}}}} || {{#if: {{{forfeit|}}} | - | {{{length|}}}}} {{#if: {{{location rows|}}} | {{!}}{{!}} rowspan="{{{location rows}}}" {{!}} {{{location|}}}}} {{#if: {{{notes rows|}}} | {{!}}{{!}} align="left" rowspan="{{{notes rows}}}" {{!}} {{{notes|}}}}}{{#if: {{{close|}}} |

      {{!}}} }}

        Loading editor
    • I added but it still has this |} on the table, how do I delete it?

        Loading editor
    • Somewhere must be adding an extra |}....

        Loading editor
    • This is the page with the template, could you find it, please?

        Loading editor
    • Well I'm not sure why you try to put the |} in the row template... just put it |} after the last row template usage.

      Your page is protected, so I can't try that.

        Loading editor
    • Oh the sandbox, ok, I'll take the protection

        Loading editor
    • Ok, see if you can try it now.

        Loading editor
    • Here's the diff. You should remove the unnecessary check for close from the row template.

        Loading editor
    • Thank you very much :)

    • By the way, I've found a thing on a template that I didn't found a year ago,

      This finals template is like this:
      2teambracket3teams1

      And I would like to be something like this:

      2teambracket3teams2

      How can I do it?, also would you prefer in this thread or in a separate thread?

      Thank you for your time

    • What is different besides the 2nd one being bigger?

      Yeah, that didn't work out the way I thought it would. I still think it is a good idea to have a bottom template though. It is just less confusing than seeing what appears to be an unmatched table closure.

      It's because it does not have the grey line the 2nd and 3rd seeds while in the 2nd image has and I would like to add it, please.

        Loading editor
    • You are going to have to point it out because I am not seeing a difference either.

        Loading editor
    • Ok, these are the differences,
      2teambracket3teams3

      2teambracket3teams4
        Loading editor
    • Okay, so where did each of those images come from? You want it like the second image, without the gap?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, I would like like the second image without the gap, also these images are prints that come from this page.

        Loading editor
    • You are getting that gap because your border widths are not all the same. For that particular cell, you have "0.75px 0.75px 1px 1px" while for everthing else, you have "1px 1px 1px 1px". By the way, the latter can be written simply as "1px"; no need to write it out 4 times.

    • Looks like I fixed it, thank you for your help. :)
