Yesterday I created a poll in our forum. I voted myself. And several other users also voted. But for some reason when I leave the thread and check it back later everything resets to 0 and 0 people voted. When I click Vote! it shows the actual results. I'm not sure why this happens.
I created the poll like this:
Part 1 is nearly over. Have you summoned for Gohan or for Cell? Have you gotten Gohan and/or Cell?
I summoned for Gohan and got him
I summoned for Gohan and didn't get him
I summoned for Cell and got him
I summoned for Cell and didn't get him
I summoned for both Gohan and Cell and got Gohan only
I summoned for both Gohan and Cell and got Cell only
I summoned for both Gohan and Cell and got both Gohan and Cell
I summoned for both Gohan and Cell and didn't get Gohan or Cell
I didn't summon at all
I wasn't aware that editing other content on the page could reset the poll. But yeah, editing the poll resets it. From what I have been told in the past, it is a result of how polls are identified and stored behind the scenes. Basically, a poll id is generated based on the content of the poll. Change the content and you change the id. Change the id and now you have a new poll with no replies. On the flip side, if you have identical poll content on two different pages, they will be linked. In other words, users can vote using either page and the results will be the total of the replies from both pages.
