Sorry about this, I feel like this thread needs to be brought up again. They should retry to implement this feature again. I know this will be brought up on the Community Central thread but trust me this is worth it. This feature should be reimplemented for several reasons. I will be giving MY OPINION about this feature. Good luck reading this all and sorry if I gave you a headache when you read this. I feel like this was necessary to give my thoughts. I know it's been a year since the last reply but I didn't see this thread until I was looking up if there was a thread feature. Sorry about this guys but trust me you'll want to read this. I hope you agree and let me know what you think of what I wrote about this feature. Thanks. :) Also I only found this draft when I was looking up if there was a draft feature that existed on FANDOM. WARNING Long rant ahead:
As you saw above I will be giving my thoughts on this exact feature and let's dive into it.
The use of this feature would be widely used and probably would make many people satisfied and I doubt anyone would hate this feature. Yeah, I understand why some people might hate this because of how obnoxious it would be as shown in the issues above. That's why I've come up with solutions for these issues above. I've felt the same way before but I mean I understand why some people would want this feature to be implemented and some wouldn't want this feature to be implemented. Here is my solution for both parties:
There are two ways to go this route:
First option:
1 A. Add settings things that allow you to have drafts automatically be created or not automatically be created. Put this setting under the "MY PREFERENCES" button.
If you enable it and you don't it to be created you can delete it via a button. I highly suggest that this button is under the message wall or my preferences button. If this is enabled also add the already added feature of discard when commenting. I highly suggest this stays towards replies and articles the person created. Meaning that drafts can not be applied to other people other than the person created who created that article. This will not conflict with the edit version because edits and drafts will be under two different parents. Editing the article will be under one parent (for ex: the parent: edit) and drafts will be under another parent (for ex: the parent: drafts). The only time they will be under one parent is when the person creates the reply that draft was created for meaning the reply the draft was saving is created or they publish the edit for the article they created.
If you don't enable it, practically nothing will happen and it will stay the same as if you didn't have it enabled meaning all the features that come when it is enabled won't be there. Simple enough for not enabled, right?

Now here's where things get juicy (I think I used this wrong but whatever) this is about situations as to when this feature would be extremely useful. There are two main situations that I'm sure it would be useful for.
First situation: Life is literally not predictable at least logically isn't predictable only because those apps that TRY to predict what will happen in the future ARE FAKE. I know you are going to hate me for this previous sentence but bruh, have common sense. At least that's what I think. But whatever hate me all you want but I'm stating the truth, anyway let's get back to the point. The reason I just mentioned life is because sometimes we may be in the middle of replying to something but then we might have to go to bed and will have to turn off the device we are using then we practically lose all the progress we were typing. Let me highlight, ALL THE PROGRESS WILL BE GONE, those are the keywords. I'm sure if you took like an hour typing something and you have to go to bed, I'm sure in the morning you will BE VERY FRUSTRATED that you lost all your progress. Trust me I've been there before. As much you might be annoyed at me at this point, I'm being reasonable here so cut me some slack sheesh. Anyway, let's dive into the second situation.
The second situation is probably when the automatic draft saved is useful. Such an example is when you are trying to browse something but you have so many tabs open that literally your computer is lagging and freezing which will be annoying I'm sure. This is when the popup, you will lose all the progress you made because it won't be saved if you continue. Now I'm sure after a long time you keep getting this message I'm sure you'll get frustrated at that point am I right? That's why the automatic draft feature would come in handy because you don't have to worry about the popup knowing it is already saved. I know that this sounds like more of a google docs thing but it would definitely be useful, I doubt many people would complain about this. I don't really know many people that complain about the automatic save feature that is in google docs. I know there are a few bugs related to that feature but other than that there aren't really many complaints from what I know. The reason I brought up google docs is that that feature that's on google docs would 100% BE USEFUL on the FANDOM Platform.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here comes the part where many people are going to look at me like are you kidding me?
I think IN MY OPINION that this would make the platform seem a little bit more organized. I mean having a draft feature would make the worries of losing the progress go away. Since people probably use other sites to save the progress they made here it would be useful because that means that we wouldn't have to worry about saving the progress we typed if we have to go AFK (away from keyboard) and then when we come back, NOT AFK, we won't have to worry if our device automatically turned off because you guys already saved the data or something (idk what word I'm supposed to be using here). I would find this feature extremely useful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I'm typing this I only use the browser version of FANDOM which I have explored fully, however since I haven't explored the mobile app version fully I won't be able to type to help those who are on the mobile app sorry. I'll make an edit later that will support the mobile version. Sorry about that mobile users.
NOTE: If I ever used the computer in this long message I meant to use devices.
NOTE to the FANDOM Platform's creators: I know this might make the scripters you have very overwhelmed but it will be worth it, in the end, trust me it may seem a lot at first but many people will be happy when you retry to release this feature. Also, idk if the autosave feature that google docs have is copyrighted, by any chance if it is so you can ignore that suggestion. As I am a scripter myself I know how stressful it can be. :)
NOTE: To the fandom community and you who are reading this: Sorry for making you process all this with all those words in the reply I made. Sorry about that I had a lot on my mind and a lot to say.

Thanks for reading this, peace out and goodbye! ✌️
