wait, that wiki still exists?
*flashback*
*shudders*
It exists but it's basically dead :)
Update: They are working on serving JS/CSS assets and other things over HTTPS now too.
Hello!
The short answer is yes, yes we are!
The longer answer is yes, yes we are and we'll make our first Staff Blog post about the HTTP->HTTPS process next week! Kocka has touched on the heart of what the biggest obstacle is - obtaining SSL certificates for the litany of domains we have (and we're still working on a solution) - but there's plenty else going on to fill the community in on.

The problem with HTTPS is that it doesn't support 4th level domains (or at least certificate authorities aren't issuing such certificates), so es.pokemon.wikia.com
wouldn't really be possible.
4th level subdomains aren't an issue (their current certificate covers *.wikia.nocookie.net
, for example). I dare say the issue for Wikia is that a wildcard can only be used in a single left-most level (so *.*.wikia.com
wouldn't be possible), meaning their certificate (at least with the current URL structure) would have to contain individually every wiki subdomain that has an interlanguage version.
Right, that's what I meant but I worded it quite wrongly.

Most likely.
