The wiki discussions are very active, but unfortunately in the last few months there have been many attacks and threats from some people in posts, which is why many users have decided to leave the wiki, we on the wiki staff have not been able to be active in discussions, and no one has shown interest in being a local Moderator to monitor the discussions.

Disney Wiki

Heya! I'm Anna and I've noticed that Annabeth and Percy is the only active DMod on the Disney wiki, and she's doing an amazing job, but I don't want her to take the load of it. The Disney wiki is big and there are usually disrespectful users and other things, and I would like to help her out, whether it's me or there's an election held or something else. Newt Strike used to be a DMod, but I heard he was demoted, so the wiki is certainly lacking some discussion moderation. And as I said previously, Annabeth and Percy is doing an amazing job, but I feel the Disney wiki is so big and there are so many active users who'd love to help. And I'm not saying she isn't active, but I'm saying she doesn't make too many posts, and I love when DMods still engage with the users. And I'm saying this again, she's doing an amazing job.

Hello, I am from the FNAF SL wiki, and I've noticed that it has become a total train wreck with posts and spam. There are absolutely no discussion moderators. The admins at the wiki have forgotten about the discussion and are lingering around the pages, leaving the discussion unfiltered. Prodigy Math Game Wiki

We have had a lot of trolls in Discussions lately, and our admins/b'crats are too busy with IRL problems to block trolls or promote new admins.

I'm a moderator on the Prodigy Math Game Wiki, along with the 4 other active moderators that can't block the malicious users. This is a screenshot of the more or less repeating arguments on Discord: https://prnt.sc/xobkm2

Our trolls this week were "Galeisstupid" and "Btsloverbritt", as well as their 30+ alts that took until the next day for FANDOM support to block. An older troll from a few weeks ago (that appeared months ago but came back recently) is "Fernando1996isevil". There's plenty more, but they're hard to remember. We also had "Isabella2456" (or something like that), but they got blocked in about 3 hours, thankfully.

This has always been a problem, but is more so now that all our admins are inactive. No, it is not a sudden bunch of spam- every other week or so we see another troll that takes 3-4 hours to be blocked. The admins are sometimes active, but not when the trolls thrive. Dystopianist is on a hiatus because he hates UCP (although he communicates over Discord), Bush of Electricity's activity is very unstable because of his IRL problems, and Glaciersong is on hiatus. They do come on for about 30 minutes or so each day, of course, but by then the damage is already done.

Would like to add that no new mods/admins will be promoted until March (that's when promotions open on our wiki) and most of our mods (let alone rollbacks and community members) aren't suitable for admin. Given how busy and inactive the admins & bureaucrats are, hosting new promotions isn't possible now- this is our last resort. NameIs A 23:50, January 26, 2021 (UTC)

Last update- as said earlier, admins/b'crats are too busy with IRL projects to moderate Discussions. One has agreed to moderate on Sundays, and another is possibly able to moderate on Saturdays. But due to work/school on the weekdays, no admins can be active then. So we'll need to have someone then, ty. We had another user today that decided to edit farm, minimod, and then evade questions regarding their actions. Everyone was in school, so it took 2 hours for them to be blocked. NameIs A 23:14, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

"We may need some help with Discussions. A bit of context: in the latest episode, one of the main characters, Sasha, was killed, and her killer was a 12-year-old girl soldier, Gabi. This has sparked much hatred in the fandom against Gabi, since Sasha was a beloved character. There have been some very nasty comments in the social media, and it has also reached Discussions. We've had to block several people for posting hateful comments wishing for Gabi to be tortured and killed. It's really toxic and we're being overwhelmed. Do you think we could summon some help from the global Discussions moderators?"

Rogue Lineage Wiki

Hello,

I am an administrator for Adopt Me! Wiki. For some time now, this community has been targeting me and some other Adopt Me! Wiki community users. Some have even said quite offensive thing sas their first posts on Adopt Me! Wiki, which they have been deemed as trolls.

With that said, the administrators and moderators have been either inactive or not actively looking on Discussions, which leaves me no option but to request Global Discussions Moderators. Several users have been globally blocked for the reasons I specified but it seems that they have made more alts to overcome that block.

Here are some examples that have been pointed towards me:

As stated by the local community rules, alts and users using STRONG profane terms, especially pointing at someone, should be blocked. This is not enforced. But even that, hasrassment cross-wiki shouldn't be happening, taking account of the Terms of Use. Nonetheless, the majority of the posts are discussions of alt evasion and questioning users' blocks.

Hello, Esti! Sadly, I do not believe that is something we would be able to handle. However, local admins should be able to do that. Just let them know what is happening, and link the User's page to them. Here is the most active Admin's Wall. I hope this was of help!

I been on the Minecraft wiki for a few days. I noticed they have one discussion moderator but they have not been active for over 2 months. I see quite a bit of trolls, toxic behaviour, off topic posts etc. I also made a post asking if they have any active discussion moderators which they replied that they did not really have any. I am not sure if the wiki needs help but I thought there is no harm in trying.

Gender Wiki

Discussions has grown since I joined the wiki's admin team and I'm not on discussions very often and mainly just handling reported posts and there is only one other active local staff which might be sufficient for the number of edits we get but it is becoming clear it isn't sufficient for the number of posts and comments we get.

Also it might be very short term. Mainly helping me decide who applies for rights to promote to Discussions Moderator. Because I am expecting an influx applications because by community consent it has been decided we need more staff members. So I made a post calling for applications and set it as the community's announcement.

Animal Crossing Wiki

I'm the Wiki Representative for the Animal Crossing Wiki, and the Discussions on there has been full of spamming, especially with harsh language, interpersonal drama, and links to other sites that we can't guarantee are safe for children. (Animal Crossing is a very child-friendly game, so we need to pay heed to that on this wiki.) The users treat Discussions as a chat area, and the admins and mods do not seem terribly interested in moderating Discussions all that much.

There is still the usual off-topic posts flooding the wiki along with trolls and spam and everything. This wiki still does not even have the proper guidelines necessary to function.
