New App Direct LinksEdit

When documenting the release of new Community Apps, would it not be best to link directly to said apps in the Apple App Store & Google Play Store? That would make finding them much easier & immediate.

There is a direct link to them in the global footer, which is seen on every page.--Toothless_Glasses.gif Annabeth and Percy🎵If you want a friend, doesn't matter when, anything you need, that's what I'll be. You can come to me.🎵Toothless_Glasses.gif

Those link to all Community Apps made by Fandom, & is nigh-on useless when it comes to finding a specific app. I mean a direct link to the specific app that has been released, that way if people are waiting to see if their app is up, then when their app is listed in the update they will be able to go straight to that specific app in either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

It's certainly a good idea. Our apps don't always appear at the same time in both the Google and the Apple store, or even all at the same time in the same store, so this would be a bit high-maintenance for us (we'd have to keep checking when they're up and then add individual links here), but I agree this would be nice for those interested in downloading the new apps right away. We might add download links later once they are all released both on Android and iOS! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 00:41, April 19, 2017 (UTC)
Sounds good to me! Earlier or later isn’t much of an issue, so long as they do get there at some point that’d be wonderful.

iOS Edit

Why aren't you guys able to release apps for iOS? ~Signed JustLeafy ( ͡| ͜' ͡| ) USER WALL 19:42, October 31, 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, is there a techical barrier to this release? (I know there is a $99 fee and probably FANDOM is unwilling to pay for it)MechQueste talk 20:20, October 31, 2017 (UTC)

There is a restriction on Apple's side on new releases, unfortunately (not related to any fees). We have the apps ready, but can't release them until that is cleared up - and we're working on that. Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 21:53, October 31, 2017 (UTC)
This statement about iOS Community apps isn't really true: "You can find all the same wiki articles, Discussions and more in the unified iOS FANDOM app."
It is very hard or near impossible to find book/novel or lifestyle iOS Community app content on the new FANDOM app. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 26 Sep 2018 11:02 AM Pacific
Which former community app community(s) are you missing in the FANDOM app? All wikis that had a community app should automatically have been included in the FANDOM app. Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 20:49, September 26, 2018 (UTC)
