  • Hi Sxerks,

This message is for noticing you an issue. For the November spotlights, Children of the Whales Wiki and Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara Wiki didn't meet all criteria, they didn't put a link back to the Animanga wiki. Beside, the former is an old anime which was broadcasted months ago and it's less of a reason to promote around the time.

Please take a look and consider that. Thanks.

  • Hello! You have a great high quality image from the SSI's 1991 catalog cover. As I'm contributing to the Wikipedia's Gold Box article, I think it would be a great to use it as the main illustration (if I had your consent first), but anyway probably that isn't an easy task due to all the copyright stuff and other issues. That said, as you possibly did that in Wikia, I simply need to know if you could clarify me it's possible to accomplish the same in Wikipedia. Thanks in advance!

  • Hello, I have a question. My friend, Dekken, who is the Admin of w:c:Anime_Boobs_Wiki was unsure if it was okay to use the Animangafooter for his Wikia. I thought only Wikia that specializes in anime and manga franchises would count for the footer. I was unsure, too.

I can't figure out why the shortcut hyperlink doesn't work. Here's the full link.

  • Yo Sxerks, I was looking at {{Animangafooter/temp}} and I'm not sure about its usage is exactly. I thought that it is something like a template to put the wikis the users are unsure about which genre they fit into, but I see many things that are already categorized elsewhere in there too. Could you please explain me what this template does? Thanks in advance.

      Loading editor
    • that was originally "/all" and was moved to "/temp" when it got too large and out of hand. Users were then supposed to move items from temp to the new sub categories, but to only one sub-cat that primarily described what genre it was in. Basically it needs to be emptied, but it is a slow process.

    • Oh alright, then I'll try to help, thanks for telling me.

  • Regarding Thread:646948#6 would it be okay to undelete the section but solely list Ages/Cameos/Tropes/VAs and exclude everything else previously there? Initially this is all Sanse will agree to it seems.

    • Since I'm the primary maintainer of the template and I don't recall any other editors objecting to the sub category in the first place, I don't see a problem with it now. The page can only be "undeleted" by a local admin, but you can just recreate it, as I don't think it is a locked page.

  • I came across w:c:VoiceActor and w:c:VoiceActors which might be used for this purpose (ideally they should be merged) but since neither are very impressive, I was thinking perhaps if there was a wiki dedicated to articles about voice actresses. I didn't come across any in searching but wondered if you might have heard of any.

The idea would be in each article that, besides whatever Wikipedia-ish stuff (and a lot of people aren't considered 'notable' enough for Wikipedia) we could have a gallery of head-shots showing characters (in chronological order) whom the actor/actress has portrayed. Below the character's images could be (if applicable) links to those characters' pages on their respective series wikia projects.

I did notice that a lot of the larger anime wikis have either Seiyuu articles or Seiyuu categories. I was thinking if I maybe made some kind of inter-wiki template (sort of like the animanga footer) to host on these categories which could help navigate through all of them that exist. I guess it would require permission from the respective admins/sysops to host that though.

    • the animanga hub is set up to list voice actors, no need for a separate wiki, see Rie_Kugimiya and others.

wikis, like minami-ke point back to the hub for voice actor links instead of internally.

    • Oh cool I guess I didn't notice or forgot about that feature. What about the image gallery idea? I guess there's just the option of doing more specific links next to their names to characters' pages though since the individual wikis would have the pics, but I guess it doesn't give the same gallery presentation...

Are we able to transclude images from other wikis? w:c:Bleach:Image:E347_Karin_uniform_Profile.jpg just makes a link but if I linked directly to it, it would be giant size. Not sure how to link while shrinking.

        Loading editor
    • you can kinda do transclusion, like we do in the Template:Animangafooter/spotlight images.

      1. go to the wiki with "File:E347_Karin_uniform_Profile.jpg"

      2. edit a page and add that image with a different size like:

      [[File:E347_Karin_uniform_Profile.jpg|64px]]

      3. "preview" but don't publish the edit, then right click on the resized image and "copy image location"

      4. the link will look like:

      http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111109212449/bleach/en/images/thumb/8/84/E347_Karin_uniform_Profile.jpg/64px-E347_Karin_uniform_Profile.jpg

      5. remove the "__cb#####" part

      and that's pretty much it

    • Ah cool, and usually on image files they give different size options for direct linking for default anyway, like in that Karin one it lists a 256 and 511.

  • For Template:Animangafooter/all I was thinking, could we have a 'food' section? This could cover wikis about series that focus on food, like Yakitate Japan, Antique Bakery, Yumeiro Patissiere, Cooking Master Boy, heck even Tokyo Mew Mew. A 'vampires' splitoff from 'horror' and 'supernatural' might also be plausible considering how many of those there be.

    • Trying to keep the list simple, just put them under drama, comedy or whatever else for now. it can be changed later.

  • I just wrote some kind of review on Nichijou on the blog section. Please let me know (without hurry, of course) if I posted it in the right place. Well, a little feedback would be appreciated, too... ^_^'
