Hello, I would like to offer you a chance to help us build up a new wiki, which will cover all content in the Arrowverse, and every show that appeared in Crisis on Infinite Earths. Including DCEU. As you can probably tell, we have our work cut out for us, as it'll be huge, and just 2 active users can't build it from the ground up by ourselves. Also a bonus, you can become an administrator if you wish. Let me know your answer, whether it's yes, or no. Thank you!
Why would we need a new DC wiki when there's the DC Database and the Arrowverse Wiki? Is this new wiki going to compete with Arrowverse? Other than covering DCEU, Titans, Smallville, etc. what would be different from the Arrow wiki? How is Smallville's Earth-2 handled? Would it cover stuff from the tie-in comics like the Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant that puts the main comics in the Arrowverse multiverse? Would it cover 3rd-party properties that crossed over with DC? Do you have a url for the new wiki?
Well, it's a good thing we're not going to cover tie-in comics and everything they crossover. Because that could lead to us covering Marvel, He-Man, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, etc. if we follow a chain of crossovers, and it could turn us into another DC Database. But I like the idea of a live-action DC Universe Wiki. But instead of making it a model of what the Arrowverse should be covering, let's cover every live-action DC media, even those not referenced in Crisis. Like Watchmen, Joker, Lois & Clark and the Nolanverse. And you know Green Lantern, Swamp Thing and the Superman movies were in Crisis but aren't displayed in your main page? And we should stick to live-action content and not cover Vixen or Freedom Fighters: The Ray, even though they tie to the main Arrowverse shows. And while we won't cover any comics, maybe we could still use them as a source for Earth numbers like Earth-76 as the home of Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman?
Hi, im the creator, our naming system is name (earth-?: pre/post crisis) it would mess with that including shows that didn't cross over so unfortunately unless they crossover we cant cover them. Also for the animated stuff it is cannon so we have to include it. The only reason we aren't covering comics is because there canonicity is dubious at best.
The original Arrowverse Wiki isn't merging series like Smallville because of continuity issues. So all your wiki can be if going by Arrow's continuity is a copy and pasted Arrowverse Wiki. And besides, the Arrowverse Wiki is still trying to figure out whether the characters on Earth-Prime are the revived people of Earth-1, Earth-38 and Earth-BL or are doppelgangers native to Earth-Prime, and your wiki is still small and your Oliver Queen (Earth-1: Pre-Crisis) is not nearly as long as Arrowverse's Oliver Queen page which is one of the pages they decided not to split for the Crisis even though that page creates server stress that makes it hard for me to scroll down. The DCEU doesn't even have an Earth number, so are you going to call them by the unofficial designation of "Barry Allen (Earth-DCEU: Pre-Crisis)?" Titans just had archived footage for both Earth-9 Pre-Crisis and Earth-9 Post-Crisis. Would that give you when in the Titans series the Crisis happened? Or did the Post-Crisis clips come from episodes before where the Pre-Crisis clips came from? They are merging with Birds of Prey because the Earth-203 scene didn't contradict anything from the show. You want to document comprehensive stuff around the Arrow multiverse's canon, just go to the Arrowverse Wiki. If you want to cover more DC live-action shows, don't be a second Arrowverse Wiki. Just cover every known live-action DC universe. You wouldn't be able to cover the shows referenced in Crisis very well if you stick to Arrow's canon. Smallville has it's own multiverse with an Earth-1 and Earth-2. Earth-167 from Crisis seems to be a copy of Smallville's Earth-1, but as the Smallville Wiki's page shows, had a lot of contradictions with Smallville's canon. So how are you going to handle Smallville? And for Stargirl, Arrowverse would merge her show when it has more evidence than a Crisis cameo to be a part of Earth-2. If that Earth-2 cameo ends up being non-canon to her show, then you wouldn't cover Stargirl. And besides, Green Lantern is Earth-12: Post-Crisis and Swamp Thing is Earth-19: Post-Crisis. Are you going to cover them?
However, when the community grows a lot larger we will have a vote on if we should cover other shows and movies outside of the Arrowverse.
Oh, well I'd vote on covering other shows outside the Arrowverse due to the reasons stated by my last comment about why those extra shows couldn't work on the Arrowverse Wiki. In fact, maybe your naming system should change to accommodate the extra shows. And if we do, should we treat Clark Kent (Earth-1: Smallville) and Clark Kent (Earth-167: Pre-Crisis) as the same character?
To be honest, if we could find a different way of naming articles - so would I. We are covering Green Lantern (Because that's DCEU if I'm not mistaken), and we are covering Swamp Thing, just forgot to add that to the home page, but it was in the top navigation.
Green Lantern is not DCEU. It was planned to start the DCEU, but it's failure in the box office made DC not want it to be the start of their movie canon. Ironic when you consider the DCEU's reputation, especially the first three movies and the big crossover they led up to being trashed by critics. But they are planning a Green Lantern Corps movie that is not led by Ryan Reynolds and the DCEU has already introduced an Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad who is different from the Waller in Green Lantern. So you are mistaken about it being in the DCEU.
Well, for the shows and movies that don't have an Earth number in the Arrowverse, or not even established as related to the Arrowverse, I would suggest using the name of the series. And if we're doing separate pre-Crisis and post-Crisis pages, should we do pre-Flashpoint and post-Flashpoint for Earth-1 or would that mean we would have to make new pages at every time alteration, which would have been messy with Legends of Tomorrow being a time-travel show? Or maybe until it is clear that the Earth-Prime characters are doppelgangers to the pre-Crisis characters, we should treat them as the same characters?
I'm only in if it covers all live-action DC media and not just the Arrowverse. If it's just the Arrowverse and the shows it crossed over with, I'd rather be improving the original Arrow Wiki. Create articles on the Linda Carter version of Diana Prince, the Titans version of Dick Grayson, the Doom Patrol version of Rita Farr, Heath Ledger's Joker, the Smallville version of Lex Luthor, the DCEU's Bruce Wayne and Silk Spectre from the movie Watchmen. Then I'll consider the offer.
Well, at least you can start with the Titans, Doom Patrol and Smallville characters, right? So let me see how you deal with Dick Grayson (Earth-66: Pre-Crisis), Hank Hall (Earth-9: Pre-Crisis) Koriand'r (Earth-9: Post-Crisis), Clark Kent (Earth-167: Pre-Crisis), Lex Luthor (Earth-167: Pre-Crisis), Hal Jordan (Earth-12: Post-Crisis), Barry Allen (Earth-DCEU: Pre-Crisis), Rita Farr (Earth-21: Post Crisis), Lucifer Morningstar (Earth-666: Pre-Crisis) and other characters from shows referenced on Crisis that isn't covered on Arrowverse Wiki. Focus more on the shows that didn't end up on Earth-Prime. Do you think you can do that? Do you think you can fit Smallville's Earth-1 canon into Earth-167?
He's right. Creating wikis from scratch won't be faster. Trust me, I've created a lot of Wikis from scratch. Like a Database Wiki that is supposed to cover literally every franchise in a DC/Marvel Database sort of format. And I mean everything like Pokémon, Kingdom Hearts, Sonic, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Marvel and DC. Almost like Wikipedia, but Database Wiki treats separate canons as their own universes. Harry Potter would have different pages between the books, the movies and LEGO Harry Potter. And there's no notability restrictions preventing minor characters from getting pages, so Lyra Heartstrings from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic can have a page. It has 6,955 pages because I've been working on it for a while. Since about 2011. But not enough images. And it doesn't have any Arrowverse characters yet.
Correct, it would be a no because I'd rather look at the original Arrow wiki then a copy. And they are already using the "Earth-2: Post-Crisis" naming for Laurel Lance. And besides, I'm pretty lazy and rebellious. Not the kind of qualities you'd want me as an admin of your site. On the wikis I'm an admin of, I tend to work alone.
And considering how Arrowverse Wiki would merge shows that it crosses over with, with even Birds of Prey merging from a Crisis cameo, your wiki is insulting Arrowverse Wiki. If you want a wiki that covers the Arrowverse, Titans, Smallville, Lucifer, and the DCEU than a wiki about DC's live-action media would be a better way to go. If you want to use the Earth numbers from Crisis then go ahead.
Okay then. I'm curious about how your wiki would turn out. But I would suggest you start on some non-Arrowverse content because there was already a wiki dedicated to the Arrowverse and they have reasons to not merge everything from Crisis. And move Birds of Prey out of your Arrowverse box because while Arrowverse is merging Birds of Prey because there weren't any inconsistencies in Helena's cameo to dispute the canon and the Birds of Prey Wiki is small, I don't think a prologue in The Flash's part of a crossover full of cameos really puts Birds of Prey in the Arrowverse. Especially since it's not part of Earth-Prime in the end.
Since you don't consider Birds of Prey a part of the Arrowverse, could you try to save its wiki from merging? The only admin there is MakeShift and they are merging because the low traffic makes it easy. But I don't want Arrowverse to merge over small cameos after Crisis, especially if you created your wiki to try to cover the expanded Arrowverse. I had just made a blog for you to read about it. And I just renamed Jason Todd on BoP to remove Earth-203 from his title. That's the first thing we should do to fight against the merge.
1. I won’t melde with the affairs of another wiki competitor or not 2. If I were still active there I would be in favour of the merge 3. Do not vandalise other wikis and 4. I have literally nothing to gain from an extra competitor being around
