I understood what you meant by "cutting in line" easily enough - I'm not as stupid as you make me out to be on Wendy's message wall. I still fail to grasp, however, your strange obsession with this adoption request. Sure, I didn't format it and make it correctly, but the issue was resolved yet you contine to pander on about how "embarrassing" it is for you, somehow.
Next time you see someone messing up an adoption on their first time, don't make it into a soap opera.
While everyone has the right of voicing their opinion, this conversation to me has become and endless loop and I just don't see the point of continuing it. Contrary to popular belief, I don't particularly like to argue, but I don't think I'd being doing much besides that on this thread.
Hey there. No, I did not think you are stupid, and I did not intentionally make you look extra stupid, I was just describing the situation how I saw it was, I thought absurd and miscommunicated perhaps, which is why I saw no point of continuing the conversation with you as we clearly did not have the rapport, seeing that your reply to me was along the lines of "I didn't mention anything about other requests and was focusing on that specific request, so of course you thought I was only talking about that request"; to me, that wasn't even the point, and if I had to spell it out to you, I see no point in continuing as you made it seem like it was my fault for not being clear.
Now, back to my "strange obsession with this adoption request"; let's say that you were just unlucky to have touched a request that happened to be on my watchlist. I mean, I'm still a firm believer of following the rules and I wish for fairness, but I wouldn't be clicking on every single request to see if someone else did what you did. What I find embarrassing, is how you admit messing up, but you aren't trying to fix it, and you are antagonizing me, who obviously is trying in their own way of fixing it. You say you get the "cutting in line" part, yet you also claimed "the issue was resolved" when it clearly wasn't (before both request were merged once more, if you had checked the queue, you would have seen your second request was indeed placed in a much higher position than the other one); Wendy's response is the type of attitude I would hope any leader would display, even though the end result is unfortunately the same, at least she explained that's how it's preferably done when this undesirable situation occurred; what you did, was just letting it happen, and only explaining when asked afterwards. I am not questioning your effort on the actual adoption, in fact, I'm fully aware you have spent more effort than Lyra did, having asked two former admins about the position. You've clearly done your homework and you seem to care about the wiki if not more, I respect all that, but what I did not like and what prompt me to butt in, was like I said, you didn't give credit to the original requester at all and the "well, it wouldn't have gone through anyway" brush off. So what that it would fail? I don't believe in completely discrediting the (albeit supremely minimal) effort others did.
Next time, if there's a poor soul did what you did, rest assure I'm going to do what I did, regardless how a soap opera it is to you; I guess we are just gonna agree and disagree on how to handle stuff.
What you are neglecting is that I did, in fact, do something to fix the problem. I don't have admin tools on this wiki, so I couldn't revert back to A-W Perfection had down, but I did the next best thing by renaming the request and hoping an admin could notice and edit the redirect page to what AWP had.
I also did give credit to her in my request, mentioning that she had requested recently. Before attemting to make me look like some floundering bufoon who antagonizes random people in order to somehow "fix" my mistake, make sure your facts are correct.
What you are neglecting what I'm trying to say is, and I'm afraid we are always going to disagree on this, instead of doing what you called the "next best thing", you could have actually contact a Staff or admin who does have the right to fix the problem; you didn't, and that's fine, but you also didn't mention the previous post's existence and just hope people would check the edit history; so what you've mentioned her request recently, you said so yourself you did it recently, you did it AFTER my so-called soup opera; I appreciate that you eventually did give her credit, but don't act as if you've did it from the beginning; because if you did, half of this conversation wouldn't be happening.
Anyways, I'm being sincere here, congratulation with the request. I wish you the most luck on renovating the wiki you are passionate about, cuz 500+ pages are quite a lot to go through. On the other hand, since you got what you wanted, can you please also stop replying to me? Like I said, to me, it's fine we are just not gonna agree on things, but that is also why I don't see the point of continuing the conversation, yet at the same time I'd think myself quite rude for not replying, hence this seemingly endless cycle on my part. You can just see me as this random mad person (which you probably at least half already have) that made a fuss and went away; I won't intentionally seek you out, so there's no other reason for us having to interact with each other beyond this thread. I've never closed a thread before, but I'll try to do it with this one after I sent out the reply. Again, congrats on your new admin status, I hope you'd make an astonishing difference. =D
Click on the link I left, it has the instructions from Wikia, read them and follow it. Though I think it said used special contact, I've used specifically Special:Contact/close-wiki on wikis intended-to-be-closed.
Hey! Thanks for both checking in! Sorry if I seem a bit pushy; I didn't know about the 24 hr thing, and I only left the message because the request right before that (a considerably large request, too) had already been working. Next time I'll be sure to only come back after a day passed!
Just checked again; the Spanish one has its main page lock so that one is the only one I didn't test on, but no, ALL of them sans the Spanish one, are NOT linked to toaruuniverseindonesia; [[id:]] does not work. They are interlinked with each other, just not with what the request was actually for (adding the Indonesian one).
Edited: Okay, I need to rephrase that. So half of what the request is asking for is done... toaruuniverseindonesia is linked to every other counterparts, just not the other way around, and The requester was trying to add the interlanguage link on the French counterpart.
