  • I have a wiki that is called Prehistoric WIki. The wiki is about 2 years old.

It currently has 309 pages.  I'm trying to increase traffic by having it show up on google.  Other smaller wikis with similar names show up on google, but mine won't.

I tried watching a video that told me to submit my url and add a string of code my mainpage.  I did this, but the editor for the site recognized it as spam.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    • For my suggestion it's good to just have your wiki grow naturally, pasteing spam and listening to random things out there won't help. It depends MAINLY, on your topic that you focused on. Editors WILL come randomly or naturally or maybe find your wiki if they like the topic or they want to improve or edit the topic based on it. Meaning, that it's kinda like your having Good or Bad luck, theres a higher chance of a topic out there phased out meaning not interesting. You should invest more time on topic and claim the unexplained topic out there. Theres still alot that haven't been created throughout FANDOM so your creativity really matters on FANDOM.

    • Ok, thank you.

Not trying to spam, just wondering what a google search will focus on, as there are other wikis similar to mine except smaller and very bare bones and yet they come up on a search while mine doesn't.

Traffic has already increased as the site has improved.  I just thought that a next major step to increasing traffic would be for it to show up on a search...

    • Although, it might seem legit on how pasteing tags would try trick the filter some actually worked from what some people got out of the results. Google used to have this feature around 1998-2004ish like you paste spam of tags and when people type in the topic that you've spammed on that specific webpage domain, the more of the word spammed on the more your page or in an article it would pop up on the top of the search results letting millions see. This trick basically tricks the search engine to lower the websites with that specific word that you are typing into the engine, that aren't appearing as much as searched up but, the ones that have alot of that word appearing on that given website will be near the top of the search results. Nowadays, sometimes people look for interesting name wiki communities such as doucment, word, or even car .fandom.com and edit on which is strange. This happen out of nowhere and the wiki is VERY popular by any high chances.
