You appear to have put your request onto an archive page originally, where it would/will not be answered. The current one on the adoptions page itself will be answered in order with the others on the page. We appreciate your patience.
This site was the first time I used the message wall. Your home Wiki which was founded by Toughpigs also has a Message Wall there before I asked you this question. All other things left on the talk pages were archived when the Message Walls came into view. Back when I first contacted you here, I thought that the person who first welcomes people to the Wiki on their first edit was the Head Administrator. I was proven wrong by Andrew. As a curious sidebar to the thing, I once thought Lanate was the Head Administrator at the Digimon Wiki yet he corrected me on KrytenKoro's page stating that KrytenKoro was the Head Administrator. How does one tell who the Head Administrator is?
There isn't such a thing as a "head admin" but there's a right called "Bureaucrat" that is any user who can give another user admin rights. To find out who that is, go to Special:Listadmins and have a look for the person, or people with the Bureaucrat flag.
There is no such thing as a Head Administrator, unless a wiki has renamed one of the preexisting user groups or requested a new one. The founder can be identified with the corresponding badge—if the wiki has achievements enabled—or combing through the list of bureaucrats. If s/he has been demoted, it's much harder to do so.
Hello again Wendy, thank you VERY much for making me Admin :D It really helps and with wiki is getting better and better. Thanks SO much again. I've got a question, on a different wiki, I am having troubles with the emotes. They don't seem to want to change. I've tried and tried but they don't seem to what to change. Is there any special way to do this? Thanks.
Hi. By emotes do you mean the emoticons for chat? I don't believe there is any special trick to changing them, other than to edit the file. Have you asked in the forums here? You may also want to report it at Special:Contact if you think they are broken.
This guys a vandal who has been vandalising the GTA and L.A. Noire Wiki's amongst others. He has now created a Wiki, which he is now using to harass users, could you please block him and shut it down, thanks.
@Woho69woho, you can always report this to Special:Contact. However, I see you have some arguments with that vandal. All you need to do is to talk with that vandal and discuss about his plan or compromise with each other. Don't panic as vandals like to see users panicking. If he still keep on vandalizing, ask a staff to solve it as staff have powers to block the user and stop creating accounts.
Hi. This was a bug yesterday, where people were getting notifications for any conversation on a wall for a user where they formerly followed the talk page. It should be resolved. If you are still being flooded with emails, please let us know at Special:Contact. You can also go unfollow the walls (not the individual threads but the user's entire wall) as you get them :)
Someone is copying the wikia-wikia www.battlepirates.wikia.com to http://kixeye.wikia.com, including users, talk pages and everything else. I am burocrat of the original and understand that copying is allowed, but I don't think that having multiple copies of the same pages is wikia's intention. If it was, you could just create a super-wiki and copy all of wikia's content in it.
Is there something I should or could do?
Hi. The best thing is usually to report it to Special:Contact. Yes, content can be copied as long as it is properly attributed, however not a full copy of a wiki! Copied content can be used as a the basis structure for a different wiki, eg. importing a bunch of harry potter character pages into a fanon wiki for Harry Potter. Or to get going on a wiki as long as it is then built on and and expanded. At anyrate, that particular wiki appears to be importing from multiple wikis as far as I can tell. Could you please go ahead and send in the report? Thanks!
Hi, Wendy. I am still awaiting some kind of confirmation regarding my adoption requests. I don't really know why it's taking this long, but I thought I'd stop by to see if everything's going okay. (I did send my request to the proper place, yes?) Anyway, just let me know when my requests have been answered. Thank you.
Hello Wendy, I just wanted to ask how long does a normal spotlight request take to be answered. I'm asking because I thought that my spotlight request was buried under so many other requests. You see, JAF1999 made a request but he was blocked forever so I tried to re-request it. The request is for the World War II Wiki and it is number 64 I believe. Sorry if people constantly ask this question.
Hi. If I already answered the request once, then yes, I won't see a further post on it (except maybe by chance). It is much better to make a new request altogether at the bottom of the page which I *will* see.
Hi. You and/or thenchick need to start a blog or forum post about new leadership for the wiki that the other contributors can see and comment on. Ideally, given the apparent size of the community you would include a vote (for/against). You can leave messages on users' talk pages to help them find it if it is not very visible.
I'd personally make a forum post. Adding a poll will make other want to adopt the wiki too. A simple "So-and-so and I would like to adopt this wiki. Please leave comments below with either a support or against." works. Merrystar just wants to make sure that the community on your wiki are aware of what is taking place and allow them to voice their opinion on the matter.
