I was wondering if Amalur Wiki was removed from testing the related videos module. It seems to have disappeared about 5 days ago. All the relevant pages are still present and otherwise the wiki seems to be working as it should. I have to say the new module fits great on our wiki since there's a lot of user video content e.g. on youtube that can help illustrate walkthroughs/item locations/etc and the module helps keep articles free of video file clutter.
I'm writing here as you were the one who advertised the pilot on our wiki.
It seems that the Related Videos Module was taken down as it had some problems on the Amalur Wiki (it showed 0 videos for multiple pages). We think the issue has been resolved and are going to re-enable it today. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Oh, well, the ) vids is my fault, of sorts. We decided the pre-populated videos (3 trailers) were not necessary on each and every page of the wiki, so I removed those three from the global video list.
We had issues where we could not remove the pre-populated videos from some pages (on a per-page basis), and later we decided that instead of removing them per-page we're better off removing them altogether, and re-adding where necessary.
The reason for the problem seems to lie in order precedence between the individual pages and the global list. The entries in the global list seem to take precedence over individual pages in the RelatedVideos namspace. Thus, blacklisting a video on an individual page will have no effect if that video is whitelisted in the global list.
I've also posted some suggestions regarding the module on your wall on Amalur wiki, don't know if you had a chance to look at the message. The first two posts relate to the above problem (so ignore them), the third is suggestions.
Mark can you help with ny wiki? If its not to much to ask I'm trying to make a site like the wikia of narutofanon for people if you or you know anyone good with manga, anime and design could help me it would be very grateful
Seems to be something wrong with it still... The image your team has created seems to be "smudgy" at the top (Whereas on the transcluded pages in the tabs, or if placed on a blog page direct it appears fine). Any ideas what's knocked that out?
Personally I like the idea of having a "montage" of sorts of the various images themselves. Alternatively, perhaps use the Van Buren logo (as that, of course, is the "most important" cancelled Fallout game).
I really hate to ask this, as I understand that my e-mail does not take priority over others. But I was wondering if there was any chance you could respond to my latest e-mail? The discussion and voting processes are officially over now, and we're all very interested in seeing how these changes will better Nukapedia. I appreciate the help, and have a good one!
I might have to delay the implementation to tomorrow while I make some changes to the code. The infobox template used on the wiki is unusually complex (it makes excessive use of parser variables), and as such is not fully compatible with the current format.
Take as much time as you need. My main concern from before was whether or not my latest e-mail response was even seen. I'm imagining that you guys get tons of e-mails to sort through over a daily basis. :P
