ME Wiki Spotlight Image Edit

Hey JoePlay how's it going? I have a question about the Mass Effect Wiki's Spotlight image. Currently I can't see how it resembles anything in the ME universe. Even the weapons are wrong. Is there any way we can get this changed to more accurately reflect the ME universe? Currently it looks like something more out of a horror game or the Terminator Movies than Mass Effect. After a bit of discussion, we think the Codex image for the First Contact War, seen here, would be a much better alternative than the current horror/Terminator/whatever inaccurate thing is currently there. We did see the image was changed and after some poking around, it got mixed up with an image from Uncharted. The current image they are using is this one. Fable Giveaway and Wiki Achievements Edit

Now that the Fable giveaway is coming to an end, I would like to request the deactivation of the achievements/badges on Fable Wiki. Our other active admins, SD and JonTheMon, have no issues with the achievements being removed. Something that I was wondering, however, was that if we decide to get them activated again in the future, would they restart from the beginning or continue from where they got to at the point of deactivation? (The question is out of interest only and would not affect the decision to have them deactivated.)

Also, with the excitement of the Fable III release, I forgot to thank you for sorting out our logo, so thanks for that as well. --Enodoc(Talk) 23:50, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Castlevania Fan Wiki Edit

Hi JoePlay. I have created the Castlevania Fan Wiki and want to move all of the fan related content on the Castlevania Wiki to that wiki. Would you or another staff member be able to help with this? All of the fan pages on the Castlevania Wiki that I would like to move are either part of the "Fandom" category, or one of the sub-categories of Fandom. I know there's a way to just move all the pages in a single category, but I'm figuring it might take a little more work to get all the subcategories over there. Also, would you be able to transfer pictures (or at least copy in case a non-fan page also uses that pic) attached to these pages, which may or may not be categorized? Pop Tarts wiki absent administrator and other problems Edit

Oh my gawd. You are one of the few good people who have edited That's why I have come to you for help. Here is the thing: I would like you to make an exception to the Pop-Tarts wiki rules and make me an administrator, with rollbacks, banning power, everything. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the quality and credibility of the Pop-Tarts wiki is at stake. You really are my only hope. I left a message on Community Wiki regarding some of the problem, but nothing came of it. Before that, I left a message on the Pop-Tart wiki admin's page, but he has not edited sincee Agust 18. No help has come from the absent admin.

Pop-Tarts wiki is not popular. I seem to be the only regular user, besides the admin, Construction Worker. However, there has been A LOT of vandalism! Just check the "diff" of my recent contributions. One eye has replaced the content of 18 pages with RAPE RAPE RAPE RAPE (and more), Goku556 has placed pages into subjective categories such as "yummy" and added a picture of a giant turd to a page, people are spamming and creating random, non-encyclopedic pages, and somebody even hacked into my account! They then created a spam page WITH MY ACCOUNT. I had to change my password.

As this wiki has no patroller other than me (currently), I am the only defense against these trolls. Construction Worker has not edited since the middle of August! I am in my first year of high school right now, and have strict parents, an early bedtime, and a very busy schedule, including multiple dance classes, music lessons, commutes, and more, per week. All while maintaining a high GPA. To make the editing process easier/streamline the fight against vandalism for me, please give me more powers. I originally wanted to wait until I had reached 500 edits before applying for adminship, but that was in my earliest days editing, before a stream of vandals suddenly hit the wiki. I hoped for Construction Worker, being the only admin, to address this problem, revert the vandalism, delete the spam and ban the accounts/IPs, but as I mentioned, he has not been active lately. Everything is stuck in September! Construction Worker's activity, even the featured user! As the only admin is absent, please give me more responisbility so that I can improve the Pop-Tarts wiki.

Hey there, I know that I can usually count on you to help me out. But I am in need of a quick help on other wikis. Over at Sims Wiki, and also over at Make Your TV Wiki, I noticed that there is a Create a Top List option. How can I obtain this for 'this and other wikis that I managed. Also to note, that I also like to have this wikis' site name option (i.e. {{SITNAME}} template that is being used), to be changed to the url's' destination. Basically, what I am saying, when some of the templates, (i.e. {{Stub}}, {{Disambig}}, {{SITENAME}} templates for the main examples), to change from Sims Wiki to Sims Daily Planet Wiki. Any near term plans for WoWWiki? Edit

Kirkburn suggested that you Sannse and some other Wikia staff have been discussing plans for WoWWiki since the Wowpedia exodus. Anything happening in the near term (besides contests)? Here is the question: Can you post a list of action items Wikia is working on to revive WoWWiki at WoWWiki general forum?

Hi, Joe!

I just wish to notify you that I've been extremely disappointed with SpartHawg948 and Lancer1298. They call the shots around the Mass Effect Wikia, and are very opinionated. I know, "who of us isn't?" and all, but they are much more so than should be expected from a wikia honcho. In my opinion, of course (pun intended).

I am not going to bother you with all the details, as I don't expect any action to be taken upon this message. Moreover, should you get curious, SpartHawg948 will be happy to provide you with them, along with ample self-righteous commentary, I am sure.

In short, I was clumsy about contributing to a couple of pages at first, which, I admit, was entirely my fault, and gave me a bad image of a person that would like to have an "edit war". So, by the time I learned the basics, I was already threatened twice with a ban. Turned out, my image was beyond repair, so no amount of rational arguments would be taken from me in support of my edits.

Therefore, I am no longer going to be interested in trying to edit this acclaimed Mass Effect Wikia, which is at times very picky about such "objective" things as "alphabetizing" the articles, yet doesn't even bother to oblige people to reference their sources, like the great Wikipedia and most other gaming Wikias I've visited do. So, again, you may just ignore this message.

I need help from this wiki Wild Ones Wiki. URL: WildWarren suddenly as an administrator deleted my profile for no reason. He says it is a spam. I write ordinary things and say it is spam? No way! I think he looks angry about something. I don't know what to do but I want to make him happy as now it is Chinese New Year in this days. He also deleted one of the innocent profile for no reason too! Hi Joe Edit

Hello Joe. My name is Jarrad and I've been involved with the Borderlands and Brink wikias, both of which I think you ad least had a hand in creating. My concern is with the Brink wiki. Obviously, nothing is exactly crucial at this point in time because the game is still 3 months from release, but there are problems I'd like to see addressed before the influx of users starts to ramp up. the main admin there is MattoftheWastes, who I know is very young but also inexplicably good at mark-up. However he is not very responsive to some issues, and does not execute much if anything. I'd be more than happy to make some adjustments and address some concerns I've been hearing among the wiki and the other Brink forums (about the wiki), but I am neither great with markup nor am I an admin. Anyway here are a couple things that people have been raising concerns about, and maybe you could help me address them:

  • The default background in the editing box, combined with the color of the text, makes your input un-readable. Of course this could be combated by switching to source, but not everyone knows this and I'm afraid it might turn away what would otherwise be worthwhile contributors/contributions
  • I'd like to see a report vandalism page set up like the Borderlands wiki has. If that could be done as simply as copying the setup from there, I wouldn't have an issue doing it myself.
  • As I mentioned, though Matt is talented and has done quite a bit of work on the wiki, he does not make many decisions or address many concerns brought to him, and I know due to the horrific weather in Australia he has been unable to pay much attention, but there are some things like duplicate pages with the delete tag that are still lingering and creating some confusion. I don't know if there are any qualifications for adminship, or if I would even meet them, but if I could work alongside him with some executive authority, I'd be able to clear things up when he's not around, or unable to act.

So that's basically it. Maybe you could take a look around the wiki and shoot some suggestions my way? If you wish, you can reach me on my talk page on the community wikia. Thanks a lot, and no rush.
