Crysis Wiki Infobox'sEdit

Hi JoePlay me again, I was wondering if you could help me with the Crsis wiki's infoboxes. I have begun a site overhaul (like I did at the Section 8 Wiki) and I am having trouble w/ the new infoboxes I have put up, the weapons infobox works perfectly but everything else is all glitchy and messed up (you can find this on the page Template:Character Infobox and a bunch of others). I was asking If you could help me again with this matter. As before a link is not going to work. If you go the the Crysis Wiki you will find me right away as I have been very active lately.

With best regards, Krypton Spartan

Skin Creation Tips Edit

Hello JoePlay! I am an administrator from the Command and Conquer Wiki. I have been informed that you knew codes to create skins. I myself am trying to create one for CnC wiki and I might need some tips. --Victor-195 00:44, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Sweet! I already now some of the basic markup for Monaco.css. I just need someone to help me if I'm confused on any part. Thank you again! --Victor-195 18:40, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Skin Question Edit

Can you create default colors on the monaco skin that can be applied to normal articles? --Victor-195 21:32, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
What I mean is if you change the colors of the widgets and such is there a code that you could use so that the items on the page are those colors too? --Victor-195 00:11, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

And is there a way to change the colors only on the Wiki Header? --Victor-195 01:04, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Alright then. Is there a way to create the links in the header inside a box? --Victor-195 00:04, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes! :O :D --Victor-195 01:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you SO UBER much! C:--Victor-195 03:10, 24 June 2009 (UTC) BTW is there a website with a cheatsheet with all the codes?

Hmmmm... Seems kinda complicated. Is it easy to understand? --Victor-195 20:58, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

How do you use it specifically for the monaco.css page? --Victor-195 00:49, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

So you can use Firebug on any page to customize monaco? And another question, can you create more than one skin at the media wiki? Like Monaco2.css?--Victor-195 00:59, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Darn. But can you create your own personal skin (as in you alone can see it) by creating (as you said) the user:name/monaco.css page and edit that?

Cool! That means that everybody can have there own custom skin if they wish. And is there a code to hide your wiki's logo on the monaco? --Victor-195 20:45, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Alright thanks! :D --Victor-195 22:55, 26 June 2009 (UTC) btw If you were curious about my progress check out my new banner! Click Here

Vandal and no AdminEdit

There's some bad vandalism on the Get Smart Wiki. We don't have anybody who can ban the vandal. Could you please help while I undo the vandalism? - Count Caterpie. Get Smart Wiki

Mass Effect Wiki skinEdit

There's a small bug with td.diff-deletedline - currently the text color is white on a light yellow background, making it hard to read.

td.diff-deletedline {
	background-color: #FFFFAA;
	color: #FFF !important;

I'd fix it but I'm no admin there so I thought I'd contact you directly. -- Porter21 (talk) 13:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

New Mass Effect Wiki admin Edit

Hey. SpartHawg and I have discussed it, and we'd like to nominate a new admin for MEWiki. DRY has been an excellent user and his work is directly responsible for MEWiki's planet pages looking so awesome. He's been a consistently good and good-humoured editor who specialises in the technical aspects of the wiki, which, with ME2 coming up, we really need in an admin. Can you give him sysop powers? --Tullis 14:37, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

SEO on StarCraft wiki Edit

Meco and I had been working on one too; I'd found a list of most searched for StarCraft terms and have been trying to put them into the main page in a draft here.

From the looks of it, Mass Effect Wiki added the most popular content to their main page in the contents box (eg Commander Shepherd, etc), rather than the way Meco and I had thought of organizing it. It's good to try new things :) Yes, I'd like to put the wiki on the first page of StarCraft searches, so we should put our heads together and see about a new main page design. PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 22:37, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

The new design is great. It looks ready to go to me already. Meco is much more organized about these things though, so he'll probably see things I missed... I sent him PMs about this. Incidentally, in the contents section, have those been tested for "most popular searches"? PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 23:26, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

"Without having any hard data about what the currently most popular search terms are for StarCraft (although someone else at Wikia could probably get that if I ask)"

This, I think, would be handy. I discussed a list of common terms I found on an SEO site with Meco; I'll see if I can find that list and email it to you. However, I don't know how reliable that site was. PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 00:46, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

This may seem an odd question, but do you know the html code for the darker color of the old links? Meco devised a color the link template that we use a lot (see the News Archive Main template or Wings of Liberty template to see it in use) and on some areas (eg images with captions) the wiki is using the new light-colored text and links on darker text, making them unreadable.
This is something that hasn't affected some dark-skinned wikis like Wowwiki; the text remains light and the background remains dark. (Perhaps a better alternative is doing something about the white boxes that surround images.) PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 00:37, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
"So are people liking the new skin?"
It's gotten positive reviews from a StarCraft Legacy sitemaster and from The visitors haven't commented on the new skin on the wiki itself, however. PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 23:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
And on a related note, AJ was wondering if you could get into contact with him again. He's feeling a little impatient. PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) 23:56, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Images Edit

We're having a little problem with the images as users want to use these images in infoboxes as they are the newest ones but admins rollback their edits because the images don't have that transparency so could you make these images transparent and crop them so they can be used in an infobox. (I think jpg files don't support transparency so they can be uploaded to png if needed. (And if there's an image with the same name it should go to <image>2.png))

And maybe this one to see which image is better.

Thanks! HiQu (My talk) 14:46, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

hi, hehehehe Edit

Can you please give my a logo, like the little picture in the top left hand corner. And in the can you make the backround colors black and green instead of blue and yellow please.-JosephFrost0304 PS, best way to reach my is at

Hey Joe. I made a wiki about a week ago. Everything was fine, but I wanted to customize Monaco. So I did. Then when I went to the main page, the bar and ads were stuffed up. take a look at the sidebar. Even when I got rid of the customizes, the bar was still stuffed up. Can you help me please? It would be much appreciated. --Andrewrox 10:27, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Joe - I'm the writer for the BioShock novel for Tor books Edit

I tried to talk to Stigma about this but she seemed skeptical I was who I said I was. Not sure why. It's not as if, when you walk into barnes and noble, it isn't full of mostly-new books written by thousands of writers. They're not all written by Stephen King. Anyway Tor and the makers of BioShock, including Ken Levine (who was originally going to write the novelization of BioShock and isn't now) have contracted me to write this book, and while I've played through the game three times on X Box (I've stopped playing games on my PC), I can't seem to get to some sites in the game without replaying the whole game--the saves are so weirdly organized I can't do it easily and I was hoping that there was more imagery from BioShock online, besides what's on the wiki (which I have used)...I need them for description. EG, I'm describing a scene in Apollo Square. I'm looking for some way to see images from BioShock on Apollo Square. The company has sent me the walkthrough book, the art of BioShock book, a script for cut scenes and dialogue in general, which I do use, but they don't really give me access to their game design files per se. I can ask questions of them--I just asked a question about how the 'tram' system works in Rapture--but they don't have time to be all that specific...

Anyway anyone who helps me out will get some kind of acknowledgement in the book. Which is due out before BioShock 2. The novel tells basically the backstory of Rapture and its civil war. If you go to (I'm not sure that link works from the wiki but you can copy and paste it) you'll see a list of my books including novelizations...

Hello Joeplay, I'm a new admin on Section 8 wiki and was wondering if I could ask for your help. For a few weeks I have been trying to create infoboxes with different colores that represent different catagories, to make it simple I have been trying to replicate the infobox's on the sites Halopedia but with different coulors with little succes since our wikia simply regects it every time, I and the other admins are asking for your help on the userboxes and are in need of aquiring new one for the ones we currently use are insufficient to our needs, I am trying to do a renivation on the site such as userbox's, new templates, and a new upto date logo for our site since we are currently using an obsolite symbole. please message me on the matter on my talk page on the Section 8 wiki whenever you get the time. With best regards KRYPTON SPARTAN

PS: Sorry if the link doesnt work, It would just be easier to go directly to the site itself and find me, it shouldnt be that hard since I have been very active latley.

Re: Images Edit

Thanks! It will help me a lot. HiQu (My talk) 13:05, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Update! Is it possible to make this image transparent? I might need it with user awards.
If so could you upload it to File:Ratchet trophy.png
Plus this will go to the first in the list. Thanks a lot for your effort! HiQu (My talk) 10:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! HiQu (My talk) 19:19, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

please Edit

I am the leader of the game and basicly the site. Cybil24 is the only admin. But so am I was untill my computer crashed and the admin went away. I have know idea how it happened, crazy right. But can you ban SPARTAN-118 from my website. He's vandalising every thing. And making his own game on that is already about a game, He needs to make his own. And he's arguing with the makers and leader of the game.-JosephFrost0304

I'd like to make the record straight. Firstly, I made a RP page, as an attempt to make things go smothly. When Admin Cybil24 got back from his vaction, he banned be outright. No warning or anything. I don't know waht to do. It was a ban based on Frost's post. If you have any intrest in the subject, regarding the banning, please come to ##spartanbase , #Halo-Fanon, or #Halopedia onthe IRC. Thank you. SPARTAN-118
