Hello! I'm Garfield, sometimes known as Garf or Garfy. Welcome to my page!
I began hanging around Fandom on-and-off in February 2016, mainly around Flipline Studios Wiki. It wasn't until late 2018 when I started becoming more actvie around Fandom as a whole. I rarely go to FS Wiki anymore.
I have seen an administrator on a KPop wiki blocking users for only adding images that are not of correct format (not vandalism), as well as not using correct grammar. He blocked one user for a month for that reason. Do you consider this abuse of power?
Well, depends. If this user has been warned before, then it doesn't seem like it would be power abuse.
It would have to be reviewed case by case. If the admin has made multiple blocks with reasons that seemed no good, then it may be something Staff may look into more. But as I don't know much about this situation, and I don't intend to get involved in it, I will not "answer this matter without knowing the full details".
Well, the administrator of this wiki for a Kpop group (Don't want to say his name or the name of the wiki) warned them about image uploading, and the users did try to listen, but he still blocked them AND extended their block from 1 day to 1 week to 1 month. He seems to not have that good of a faith in users. For example, he blocked a user unfairly for 1 month just for adding jpg instead of png, which to me isn't important. As for image naming, he should not have blocked them, but he should have renamed the images for the users and warned them about how it should be named; if done the second time he still should have warned them. He should have only blocked users for real vandalism, such as adding false information.
Like I said, I'm not getting involved with this situation. If you think this user is abusing their rights, contact Fandom Staff. I'm not in any position to decide if they're abusing their rights, or if any action should be taken against them.
I think all global bans are infinite. Could you explain to me about the account disabling, and how it works? I heard that if you get a global ban, it expires in 3 months and the account gets disabled right away, mainly to clear the block list.
So I'm blocked on the Bee Swarm Simulator wiki for "ban evasion", because the user that blocked me, This Guy, won’t accept that the reason I have the same ip as a blocked user is that I live with my brother at home, and when he was blocked, so was I..
