  • Hey Darth!

I'm Witherstorm. It's been a long time since we've chatted, but Ludwig managed to convince me to come back to Wikia.

    How are you doing?

  • Hello! You have a message from Rowletbeak here. Apparently, he's not able to send his own message here. If you respond to him, I ask that you do so on either his account's wall or that anon's wall so as to not add to the hijacking of that other message wall post.

    • I have solved the matter. It seemed to be a problem with my device. If you could remove the hijacking, that would be appreciated. Sorry about this incident.

  • I know you, you're the guy on my first wiki, the MCPE wiki, that's it, you were one of the major guys. Hi!

      Loading editor
  • Hey, just wanted to let you know that you are not allowed to collect email addresses on MCPE Wiki, even in a Google Form, as it is a ToU violation. Just a heads-up.

      Loading editor
    • Hey ~ Sorry if this sounds stupid but I actually can't find this written anywhere in the Terms of Use.

The closest thing I can find to this is under the Fandom Community Guidelines section "Respect People's Privacy" but even here it isn't directly said collecting email addresses is not allowed.

Could you reference where this is mentioned?

        Loading editor
    • Anyways, I have changed the form so it no longer collects addresses. Fair enough I suppose.

        Loading editor
    • It has to do with collecting personally identifying information from minors (a violation of COPPA laws), of which email addresses are included. As there is no way to confirm that the email addresses you are collecting are not those of minors, there is a high possibility of COPPA violation. I would quote ToU directly, but I can't access it atm.

    • Hope the current version is alright. Thanks for looking out for us. :)

  • Hello,

I see that the Minecraft Story Mode Wiki that you founded is pretty popular. How did you gain users on the wiki? Could you please tell me how you got users on to the wiki and give me some advice about how to attract users on to a community?

    • Hey there!

Here's my advice- Just focus on creating good content and you will eventually be able to increase your fanbase.

In the beginning, the MCSM Wiki barely had 3 users~ we were getting less than a hundred views a day even; but we didn't give up on our idea and we continued to add and edit more pages. Eventually, more and more users began to join.

Remember, depending on the popularity of your Wiki's topic, a good amount of views might range from 100 views a day to 10000 views a day.

Wish you well with whatever community you start~!

  • Hey Darth,

On some wikis, they have changed the "admin" usertag to something else? What is the mediawiki page to change the usertag?

      Loading editor
  • Hello Darth! While we have different views on the nomination, that is not what I'm here to talk about. I would like to mention that one of the users who voted have only been on this wiki for roughtly 5 days, and it is likely that the main reason for the support is because of friendship.

I propose that we restrict users who are new to vote, because they likely do not know about the user's actions and behvior, whether good or bad, since they are new.

    • I make all nominations visible to everyone who visits the Wiki within a 24 hour timespace using the Community notice message (the box on the bottom right). Since you're an active user, you should be able to see that.

    • That isn't what I am mainly talking about. I was referring to this: http://minecraftstorymode.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:22765

  • Hi! I have been looking at our staff and I have noticed that The mysteryous user and InGen Nate Kenny have been quite inactive. I don't believe they should still be admin as they are just too inactive and don't use admin tools anymore.

However, if you want, perhaps InGen can be demoted to a content mod so he can continue editing and as a thanks for working with the wiki for so long.

    • As you have not responded, I have demoted The mysteryous user to a content mod as he is very inactive.

    • Hey there,

I have already told you to wait for a response as I am busy with midterms. I think waiting for 2 days shouldn't be that much trouble.

InGen still drops by and makes edits, so demoting them is not necessary, and you should only demote users after giving them prior warning, such as asking them to respond to a thread within 3 days.

Please post a message on TMUser's wall asking them if they still want to remain staff. Thanks.

I think given the circumstances, you can afford to give me 2 days odd to respond before doing anything, no?

    • Apologies. I was in a rush and frusterated with the lack of staff members.

  • Hi Darth. I have gotten several reports from users about chat issues. I ask that we get more chat mods for this and ask that you encourage all current staff in the wiki to check chat more often.

Drama levels are rising. We need a new chat mod.

    • Being as it may, I have never seen how he acts in chat. Also, I cannot think of a good rank for him, as he is usually more active as an editor, but a nomination for content moderator is way too early. I was thinking we could set up a custom rank that gives a user editing tools, but not too many editing tools.

    • I have seen them in chat several times, so rollback and chat moderator should be fine.
