Sorry for the late response. I haven't been on in a while. If you mean the hot spots on WikiActivity they do not show up at all if there are not a ton of pages that have been edited a lot. If you need it completely gone, you could use CSS to remove it. I could figure the code for that if you would like.
@TK-999 - I understand. The reason I ask is so that when it is brought before the community, we will know 100% for sure if it can even be removed at all. I will submit a S:C to find out more.
@DaRanger - Thanks for the response! I will be submitting a S:C concerning the removal - if it comes back that we can utilize CSS to do so with Community Consensus, I would certainly appreciate any assistance that could be provided. I'll post a reply here when I hear back from the Staff.

My next question then would be can we figure out how to move it, lower on the page? It would be nice to push Community Messages up a bit.
The reason removing Hot Spots is against the ToU is because it's part of the right sidebar. Everything on the right sidebar is a "key element of the Wikia look" per Help:Customization policy -- meaning that it should appear in the same location in the interface and function as intended. Translation: you cannot move or remove Hot Spots, Community Messages, or anything on the right sidebar.
Note: I am not a staff member, so you should ask them to clarify in your email correspondence if moving Community Messages up is allowed. I'm just saying that I find that very unlikely due to my experience with the ToU.
The ToU leaves you free to customize things for yourself in your personal css/js files however you like. But when it comes to changing things wiki-wide for all viewers of a wiki, you cannot move, remove or alter the normal functionality of key components of the Wikia interface (such as the right sidebar).
