I have been blocked on Minecraft Wiki because my friend spammed on it. When i tried to explain to the admins they said that i was sockpuppeting. This has happened to me before on Agar.io Wiki. I have changed my password to something else to prevent more trouble. Can you help out? Kind Regards, Thebest123123xxx (Profile) (Contact)
you can contact the staffs via Special:Contact. Sockpuppeting is to have more than just one account on this plattform. Technically it is not illegal on FANDOM, but a lot of wikis have their own and local rules, which do not accept more than just one account.
If you don't have that, then they can't blame you from what your friend did. They have to come up with some facts and something that prooves you did it. A staff member can be a neutral person within the discussion between you and the admins, who blocked you.
You should stick to one account. Creating more accounts does not lift your block for socks. As I said you should contact a staff member of FANDOM to take care of the situation and maybe getting you out of there.
If nothing helps then you have to wait until they lift the block.
Recently, I've been collecting a lot of data on this one game "Amazing Island", and I need to become an admin to rename/delete some pages, change the theme, and other admin-specific things. Is there some way you could get this to happen? any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Apparently, they were blocked for sockpuppetry. I know this probably looks suspicious, since I'm a different person, commenting in place of them, but that's because their block extends to this page too, according to them. (I'm using they/them because my friend uses those pronouns... they're one person). I don't really know what to do, but when I searched about VSTF things, it said I could talk to you here about VSTF blocks. Here's their account:
They've been sending me info from the blockboxes that they see next to the comments section. However, when they checked a second time, the information was completely different. Most importantly, neither of these "target" or "current" ip addresses are even their ip that they see when they google "what is my ip". Here are screenshots they sent me from two different viewings of the box:
They tell me they're using chrome, and their only plugin is adblock. I've asked them to try turning it off. I'll let you know how that goes.
Actually, I think I know what might be going on. It's an IP block, which makes sense as to why it's only three months. Therefore, if you're friend wasn't sockpuppeting, it means that your friend got an IP that had previously been used by someone else to make bad edits, and that person's IP address was globally blocked 3 weeks ago. IP addresses can change periodically, but there are some rare cases in which they don't change.
For the second one though, I'm not so sure what's going on, since that was a block applied over five years ago.
It looks like that other users already gave you an answer.
