I came over from Curse/Gamepedia earlier this year when we were aquired. I've been working with gaming wikis for more than 6 years now, and before that I was also a volunteer for some WikiMedia Foundation projects. If you're curious, you can check out my Gamepedia userpage here: https://help.gamepedia.com/UserProfile:CrsBenjamin
I run the the Planet Zoo Wiki, alongside a small team of staff, and we were interested in the Official Community Partnership Program! Our Wiki Manager, Moviesign, recommended that we contacted you for help with becoming official.
My discord is kenz#7437 for contacting purposes. Thank you for your time!
Hi! Im User Damien Campbell and former friend of Nanophodia. I believe through a series of discussions that you may have mistakingly banned Nano with no prove of evdience. They have only posted about Nero fest, Arthora Pendragon Alter NP3 and their profile picture. We ask a reason of why you placed a 3 month ban on this user. I plead a request to lift the ban of this user or provide a less vague reason to why you banned them. Thanks
We don't generally discuss bans with third parties, and this user is welcome to contact us directly to discuss their block using https://fandom.zendesk.com/.
warcomander recently gave out new turrets leadstorm, sledge, upholder, and issued a release on gen 2 platorms, it would be much appreciated if you had information on these turrets, and platforms, i use warcomander wiki alot to help figure out my stratigys for offence and defence, please and thank you.
My primary focus will be Community (and within Gaming), but our philosophy for Gamepedia has always been that communities are an important part of the decision making process when it comes to product and marketing, so I'm sure I'll continue to have some part in discussions around those areas as well. Also, much of the "marketing" has been community-driven for sure, so I'd still be handling a lot of that I'm sure. :-)
Probably not directly. Over on Gamepedia, our CM MisterWoodhouse handles all the support tickets. I sometimes jump in to provide assistance with particularly thorny issues, but don't really do a lot of front-line support through tickets myself. You'll definitely see me around on wikis and Community Central though!
So far its been good. Its been great to meet all the folks there and learn about their perspectives and approaches. For so long we were competitors, so building a more unified team has been a fun project.
Well, its been a gradual transition for sure. I'm still very much involved in most of the things I did at Curse/Gamepedia, and in fact there's still a whole Curse office in Hunstville, AL we all work out of (and will continue to) -- So, it hasn't really been a major change in work environment or anything. Just a lot of planning and learning and meeting people! Its an exciting adventure to be working on.
Well, its both simple and complicated. Simple in that, we're all working for the same organization now, so we're definitely all colleagues and working together on just about everything. Complicated in that, since we have some different ways of approaching things and systems between the two wiki platforms (and size difference, of course), we haven't had as much need for Always-Fandom folks to jump in on Gamepedia (although Mira Laime definitely has!), and only a couple of us Originally-Gamepedia folks will be immediately jumping in on the Fandom side.
