  • I read about the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station via the Wikipedea article. Was interested since I found a couple of duplicate promotional cards, sized a little smaller than a post card. Front has an artists depiction along with some facts as well as a "simulated" nuclear pellet under a clear plastic case. Rear just has text along with company's logos. Appears to be prior to completion as part of text reads "When the three nuclear generating station is completed early in the 1980's..." I can send a photo, if desired, that could be added to the article. Regards merson1@juno.com

  • Hi, just wanted to say thanks for your DeadVideos script.

    Do you know if anyone's written a script that will do the same for DailyMotion and Vimeo?

    • It was actually just a domain restriction in the Google API I used, so a simple addition of the new domain. It should be working again shortly. Let me know if it still has any issues.

    • It's working again, thanks very much!

  • I've been trying to use the coding that you've posted in this thread, but nothing is working. I know that there is a delay when the coding is implemented in Wikia.js, but it's been over a few hours since the coding was implemented, and the wordmarks that me and my friend created haven't showed up yet.

    Is there something that I should've edited in the coding?

    Here is the link to the Wikia.js of the wiki I'm admin on.

    • That's right, change what I had above to this:

          $(($('h1.wordmark').length ? 'h1.wordmark' : '.wds-community-header__wordmark') + ' a img').attr(
              'src',
              images[Math.floor(Math.random() * images.length)]
          );

    • In this case I can't really argue with him. The song's use or not of the apostrophe is inconsistent, so we default to standard grammar. Seems clear enough to me.

  • Thanks for taking the screenshot of your nav issue. ¬†Can you let me know what browser and OS you are using? ¬†I want to see if we can replicate the problem. ¬†Also - anything else going on like local CSS?

    • Found the issue.

      Firefox 28 does not support the CSS style box-sizing: border-box;.

      This support was not added until Firefox 29[1]. So yes, upgrading will fix this by the browser supporting the CSS that is used.

    • If you use a lot of plugins or addons, the look and feel can be quite different because they are not yet supported in the new version. However, you can run the add-on verifyer to see if they are compatible or not before upgrading.

  • I modified a piece of code you gave me awhile back, and I need some help tweaking it to work with one more item.

    http://allthetropes.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-PageTypeLinkColors.js

    It already affects the pages with the Trope by turning all links green, but I need it to make all links with the "Category:YMMV Trope" to have a color like orange or dark yellow (something distinctive other than red for obvious reasons) as well.

    I'm not sure how to add another section and not sure what would be the most practical (and web safe) color I should use for the YMMV Trope links, any help would be appreciated.

    • Do you think that fluorescent colors should be good something like "Laser Lemon" would be a good color for the code or not?

        Loading editor
    • You probably don't want to use bright yellow text on a white background. You could test out any colors you want before adding them, though.

    • I assume there's a reason your account is infinitely blocked. I don't like to upload too many fanmade images, and show images need to be higher quality.

  • If you have time, could you fix the color coding so that it takes the highest user right rather than having the color code jump between all of the user right levels? I know that you said you would fix this, just a reminder.

    • I'll get to it as soon as I can, but things are a little crazy right now so it might be a couple days. If you want, you could comment it out and put the CSS you had back until I fix it.

      i will wait, it seems more effective than setting it up for each user

  • Good day, sir!

    I have noticed that the Vocaloid Wiki has the random graphic wordmark feature. Liking it, I have proposed to admins to implement it as well to Evillious Wiki . The proposal involved 21 logos, which exceeds Vocaloid Wiki's 19 by 2. I have heard that having too much would cause problems so my first question is if that number would suffice.

    My second (most important) question is if I could change the links in the code that you have provided and have it inputted to our Wikia's general Javascript code  by our admins. Would that work? Or is there something more to do for it to work?

    • I could only imagine it getting noticeably slower with thousands of images, you should be fine¬†:P. The slowness is just caused by the fact that it has to wait for the page to load and then load one image, I don't think there's any way to make it much faster than that.

      Anyway, yep, that's it, as long as you have the images uploaded and get the links in properly. All you have to modify is the list of image URLs once you copy the code.

  • I have a template I would like to see if can be made. May I ask here directly, or should I stick with the Tech Forum?

    • You can ask me, and if I'm not interested or too busy I'll tell you to go to the tech forum. If you want to skip the first step, just post it in the tech forum and I'll take a look¬†:P.

    • Good deal, might as well leave it open to all, so‚Ķ to the Bat-Forum, (Love)Robin! ¬†:P
