Hi! I noticed your question in chat a bit late, so I decided to write it here.
Templates are an option to format things consistently. However, putting an entire page in a template makes a page much harder to edit for new and semi-new editors which is not good if people pass by and want to correct simple things like spelling mistakes.
An alternative I thought of is using a create button somewhere that uses a preload. This uses mw:extension:InputBox. You'll just have to create a template with what you want preloaded in pages, and then put "preload=Template:templatename" in the inputbox's code.
If you need further, let me know (: I hope this helps.
Thanks and sorry I bailed on the chat. I am pretty much code illiterate so I do try and avoid things that make editing harder for new users. Also thought of having some kind of "guide" article which pretty much says: An artcle about [topic] should have the following headings.
Though I do need to clean up some of them, as "Origins" has been used to mean two different things depending on the article.
