All wikis start with one person, which is the founder. Growing wiki into a busy site requries a lot more manpower to do so, but you will never know when your wiki attracts more readers and editors than what you expect.
When it comes to wikis, you are both academic and artist. You have to be accurate, but you also have to be interesting. Neither one can dominate; you have to skillfully balance both.
Starting a wiki can be complicated, and a struggle, because you need to think and brainstorm how to plan your wiki with a good start. A founder alone in a wiki is very common at the start of a wiki creation, and especially when the wiki is very young itself. People want to contribute to a wiki where it weighs heavy enough to attract more readers. For faster popularity of views and editors, the best thing to do is to start ASAP.
Starting a sentence or two on a new wiki is fine, because the wiki is new itself. When people comes to this wiki, they can improve every article that needs to be improved. Every wiki starts from a founder and a few content pages into a huge, busy site. Don't forget to introudce your topic on the main page so that your editors will know what your wiki is about!
In Community Central, you can create a blog post and describe what's your wiki is about, if you desire. Don't just encourage or force people to come to join the wiki; be descriptive about your wiki's topic and task. The more descriptive your blog post sounds, the higher people will encourage themselves to come and edit the wiki, if they are interested in contributing the wiki. Like I said; neither academic nor artist can dominate. Feel free to burnt out at any certain periods if you have to.
u really need 2 stop editing adoption pages every single time unless ur actually replying which 95% of time ur not
im sick of adoption requests being filled with "last editor: Applemasterexpert" cuz that confuses me into thinking u made the request or made a non staff response but when i look there i dont see much change u only format and the formatting should be done by a bot
besides i think that ur tryna get to 10000 edits without posting on message walls or forum so u do edits that nobody cares about
besides it makes ppl confused in2 thinking that adoption request was answered since it shows the last editor in general even if it was just formatting, and then theyll spend hours looking for one not formatted by "Applemasterexpert" or answered by a staffer
hey "Applemasterexpert", i feel like discussion is over so i wanna close this thread but i can only remove it. removing a thread makes it not visible on the message wall. closing a thread prevents it from further replies but keeps it visible on ur wall. and only the guy whose wall the message has been posted on can close thread. so can u please close it? just click more then close which will prevent further replies but still keep it visible
I cannot close wikis (I don't know why some people thought I am Fandom Staff, but I'm not, of course). If you don't want to contribute to the wiki anymore, you can just leave it and someone might revive it themselves.
