That is sad to hear. I never encountered any bad intent in your Edits. Still I am not sure, if the distinction between "devil" and "demon" exists in English (In German it exists, in Arabic and Turkish also as far as I know), but banning someone for a category some People disagree with is overreacting. I have seen categories making less sense (like category Lucifer as both the Latin itnerpretation and the fallen angel-Interpretation). But I have not read the entire accusation just saw it somewhere on Wiki.
Regarding the Image on the jinn-article, you probably know which one I mean, I am not sure if the creatures depicted here are not rather Divs. I suspected they not to be jinn for a longer time, and recently, when Talking About my Exams at University, my Prof also told me I should be careful not to confuse jinn and div (I am writing About Occultism in the late Ottoman Empire), and that the depictions of thr horned dancing creatures are not jinn, but Div.
Unfortunetaly, non-Muslims or People without an Islamic Background think of "Evil Spirits" directly About "jinn". Everything is a "jinn" for them. That there are also Peri, Div, Hinn and Fallen angel in Muslim lore (no matter if they are mentioned in the Quran or Hadith per se, they appaer in Muslim lore nevertheless) is disregarded. Thus, many mistakes were made on Wikipedia and even soem scholary researches. In Turkish there is a movie called "Semum", and the Evil spirit here is clearly a shaitan, not a jinn. Despite that, in one paper it is called a "jinn"-movie. Why? Just because it is an Islam-related Horror Movie? The Spirit in the movie laments for being banished by God, sent into hell and wants to lead humans astray from every side. Jinn film on the other Hand usually feature jinn with "free-Will", who complain About Breaking a rule or are somethign mysterious entirely (here again, we see a distinction between demon and devil is not observed by many authors).
But there are also soe Muslim Sources in which jinn and Div overlap, therefore I am not sure whether or not the Image describes them as jinn anyway. And it is far to hard for me to read. I can read some Basics in Arabic, but hats it.
Devil is word describe evil rank of demons as I told you
so in most context they are same beings because all demons are evil in most time
only few religions and few media made demons good
so only difference as I said in most time they are same being but demon term is more generic because when they called devils they usually accusers and slanderers or corruptors and rebellious or demons who associated to sins or sex not evilness by general
also converted humans and fallen angels are usually called devils
sometimes devil term used for beings who associated to fears even if not demons
