tophats or hatnotes?[]

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_hat_(disambiguation) - no mention there of "tophat" to mean what Wikipedia calls a "hatnote". Could we standardize here? -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 22:41, June 26, 2016 (UTC)

If I had to guess, I would say it was just a typo that never got caught; Wikipedia's always referred to those templates as hatnotes or dabnotes (though the distinction between those terms was never very clear to me, and they seem to have standardized/converged on the former). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:02, June 27, 2016 (UTC)
Good point - I've just switched out the word. Thanks! Kirkburn  talk  contr    18:00, July 21, 2016 (UTC)

Not enough types?[]

What types such as Template:Nihongo, Template:Ruby or Template:Translation belong to? These are heavily used on wikis about franchises that didn't originate fro English-speaking countriesFortressMaximus #realcanon #TruEU #2016YearofMecha (Talk) 22:40, October 22, 2016 (UTC)

Order of listing[]

They would be much easier to add if they were listed in an obvious order so that we could quickly scroll to the one we wanted if we know it. How about alphabetical? -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 11:11, June 21, 2017 (UTC)

Bulk edit template type is having issues[]

I'm trying to click on the bulk edit template type link for a category on a wiki that I have admin rights on, but nothing happens. A list of options to set all the templates in a certain category as a certain type doesn't show up, so I can't use the bulk edit template type feature. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:34, July 21, 2017 (UTC)

Hello, this looks like a bug, and I can see it happening on my end too - please report it to Special:Contact/bug :) noreplyz talk 01:19, July 23, 2017 (UTC)

Infoicon text not displayed on mobile[]

I don't understand why they decided to make it that way. If I want to say, "Building X gives 25xp, Building Y gives 20xp", in mobile shows "Building X gives xp, Building Y gives xp" (which doesn't make any sense). As a workaround, I have to use other template type, which, according to Wikia, is wrong.

At least the feature is clear, use this type only for additional decorations not required for mobile users. Pick another type if it's essential, I vaguely recall something in the direction of data. –Dunnoob 💩 08:12, October 30, 2017 (UTC)

Sometime hidden?[]

"Sometimes hidden" is super unhelpful. FANDOM staff needs to add more info. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 26 Oct 2018 5:42 PM Pacific

MediaWiki API?[]

Is there a way to get all templates of a type from the API? SeiverEl (talk) 18:15, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

This article needs to be edited in order to explain the situation on Gamepedia wikis[]

I'm currently working on a barebone wiki which was originally created on Gamepedia. A LOT of articles on Community Central Help pages are totally forgetting about Gamepedia, and I bet many editors like me are not expecting their wiki to act not work as presented in the Help pages here. Basically, editors cannot choose a template style when creating or editing a template. -BowiQC (talk) 14:47, 9 July 2022 (UTC)

Template type selection error[]

Whenever I have to choose the type for a template, it just doesn't seem to be registered, as I get asked every time I edit said template… When will this bug be fixed? TDFreddyG (talk) 17:55, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
