This page http://avidflyer.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Towing was set up as a category page, then a user edited it as a content page. I want to move the content to a new page named "Trailer Towing" and restore the original category page. However there is no Move link at the top of the page. - Good question. I'm not sure what is happening - I'll ask. Edit: it appears this may be on purpose, in order to prevent category redirects. You will have to cut and paste the article contents. Kirkburn (talk) 14:57, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

I had to ask this:[]
I was able to rename pages, but I can't do it any more. I don't know what happened. My guess is you can't rename a page if a page is too old. Let's say a page was created more than a year ago, so you can't rename it any more. Am I wrong or right? If I am wrong, what is the reason to my not renaming a certain page, at the moment??? - Some pages might be protected by local admin so you cant rename it. if its your own wiki or wiki you administer you can contact staff it might be a bug. Minato(Talk) 16:36, November 26, 2016 (UTC)
How do I separate a file revision from an uploaded file?[]
Hello, dear fellow wikians.
I have a question regarding the separation of files.
Just a few minutes ago, I uploaded a few images to our wiki via the Admin Dashboard, by using the Add Multiple Photos-tool.
When the upload was completed, I noticed that I (by sheer accident) uploaded two files, related to the same location, by the same filename instead of naming them "file.png" and "file 2.png".
So I ended up with "file.png" featuring two revisions instead.
Now I wanted to know how I am supposed to separate one revision, featuring the accidentally misnamed file, from the other, as I haven't seen any option to do so.
Even when I selected the older revision on its own, there was no way for me to rename that one revision's file, as I ended up renaming the whole file (including all two revisions) instead.
Does anyone know how I can separate a revision from a file to feature it as it's own, separate file?
I just wanted to know, in case this might happen again, as I am not the only admin on the wiki and want to share that knowledge with my fellow admins.

- Hello, for separating file go to history of file and undo the new revision. you can re upload image. this type of questions are better asked in Special:Forum for quick reply.

While I went and did exactly that, it's rather unfortunate.
So there's really no way to simply separate them?
Anyways, thank you so much for the quick reply despite my clumsy attempt at asking a question on a talk page instead of going for the obvious.
But there's something else I want to ask.
I heard, that the forum is soon going to be replaced by discussions.
What is up with that?
While I saw the discussions pop up at some wikis, they don't seem to have spread to all wikis so far.

Well i created my own wiki, i tried to rename a main character but i cant because it doesn't give me the option to, anyone know why i cant rename it?

Bug in redirected article comments[]
On wikis that had article comments enabled before 2020, the comments were stored in Talk pages such as Talk:Marcy/@comment-114562-20191027181058. If the page was renamed prior to the implementation of Discussions-style comments (in approximately September 2020), the redirects for the comments can cause the List of redirects (Special:ListRedirects) to stop displaying the redirects. Instead, it will suddenly jump to the page, then scroll down to display the redirects inside the comments for that page.
This occurs because the wiki is trying to handle the article comment being a double redirect. The first redirect came from the page initially being renamed, and the second is an internal/hidden redirect from the implementation of Discussions-style comments.
An example of this can be seen here. There are twenty redirected article comments listed, but as soon as you click on "next 20", it takes you to the page for Marcy Wu and scrolls down to show just three comments that were redirected.
Obviously, this makes cleaning up redirects more difficult. It requires manually changing the offset= number in the URL until you find the one that's after the interference. If you don't guess right, click on the back button in your browser and try a different number. Repeat until you get past it. For this example, the offset needed to be 258 before the list of redirects worked again.
Removing the interference with the redirects list will require letting it send you to affected pages. Scroll to the top and verify the "(Redirected from XYZ)" message is present, then scroll back down to the article comment. Edit the comment to remove the redirect command, save it, then delete the comment. Repeat until there are no more redirected article comments and the redirects list functions normally.—RRabbit42 (talk) 06:47, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
