Width[edit source]

Is there a way to set the width of the tags, e.g. "<mainpage-leftcolumn-start width="50%"/>"? Thanks --Tingeltangelbob - (+blablahospital) 18:16, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

No, there is not. The purpose of these tags is to define a left (variable width) area, and a right (300px wide) area. If the box ads are enabled by our advertisement system, the 300x250 box ad will be inserted into the top of the page pushing everything down, or if it detects the column tags, it will put the ad inside the right column, so that only the contents of the right column slides down (not effecting anything in the left area. --Uberfuzzy 07:15, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you anyway ;-) --Tingeltangelbob - (+blablahospital) 13:32, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Extension?[edit source]

Is this an extension of some sort, available for customization of personal projects? I ask, because I cannot figure out how in the world to show columns side by side like every single wiki I ever visit does, but the codes wont work for me. Are there alternatives for side by side panels/columns/whatever one wants to call them, aside from this code? --Terran Officer 01:27, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it is an extension http://trac.wikia-code.com/browser/wikia/trunk/extensions/wikia/MainPageTag/MainPageTag.php --Uberfuzzy 04:09, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Wow...it was a year ago that I asked this, and then forgot to come back to it... Anyway, to return to the topic, how does one install this? Is it possible to install and use this on a personal project (or rather at least one not a part of wikia?) Would I just copy that code, and make a new file type with "MainPageTag" as the name, or?--Terran Officer 21:16, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

You actually want the code from here https://svn.wikia-code.com/wikia/trunk/extensions/wikia/MainPageTag/MainPageTag.php , its easier to copy

General Columns[edit source]

Is there a code for just two columns of text? I've tried the {{Col-begin}}, {{Col-2}}, and {{Col-end}} templates but they don't work. WarriorLoverInc 18:26, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Same as above really, I want to put a picture and a table side by side with another (double width) table underneath. Currently the columns commands seem to be a solution, but not one that works due to not being the main page. Any help? MacDitch (talk) 11:55, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

Messed up the home page[edit source]

Help I cannot get the 'activity' on the right column, it just puts it on the second half of the left column. I have copied the last few lines of the source from another point in time to when the right column worked correctly but for some reason it still doesn't like me. Any ideas? the wiki is here. Could someone please edit the source on the home page to show the right column correctly thanks. Hotchoc26 (talk) 20:22, May 23, 2013 (UTC)

Borders[edit source]

Is it possible to put a border around the ad? I tried and the ad didn't appear in the box I made for it. If so, will it not work with a box with rounded corners? EternalLocket (talk) 11:01, August 17, 2014 (UTC)

A box with rounded corners almost certainly won't be okay, as they may occlude the advertisement space. I would not recommend a border either - ad code is constantly changing, and the design of them may change too, so you may end up with a very odd looking space. List all tags[edit source]

Is there a way to get the list of all tags that the software can recognize ?
