Alot of this page sounds like guidelines and not policies[]

How is a user to tell which things that are "recommended" are actually "required"? -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 21 Apr 2014 3:37 PM Pacific

AFIK, this is giving clarification to the Terms of Use, all the examples that say not to do them are disallowed by the ToU -- RansomTime 23:43, April 21, 2014 (UTC)

please change [[de:Hilfe:Richtlinie zu Wiki-Anpassungen]] to [[de:Hilfe:Richtlinien bei Anpassungen]]. Thank you! :) --Rain (talk) 03:57, September 6, 2015 (UTC)

Can someone add [[ko:도움말:커스터마이징 정책]] on main help page? This page is fully protected, so I can't edit main page. Thank you. DoCheonGong 09:02, January 17, 2016 (UTC)

This is way too strict[]

If I was the Fandom/Wikia exec in charge of design, the first thing I'd do would be to overhaul this policy. There are many sites (Tumblr, Blogspot, Wordpress...) that allow their default themes to be completely customized, often beyond recognition. If someone wants to make their Wikiasite look like Wikihow or TVTropes, then allow them to do so. Don't restrict them to the same handful of options. Violation of policy?[]

Would adding this to CSS to try and change the font of a wiki be a violation of Wikia policy? Chris6d (talk) 21:02, August 26, 2018 (UTC)

Local navigation customisation[]

I've been biting my tongue about this for the last three years as I've always understood that, when they were testing the then-new local navigation menu design in the spring of 2017, FANDOM did not want the local navigation menu to be customised outside of system messages and the theme designer as they wanted to feel out its impact on their statistics.

However, it's now the summer of 2020, and the customisation policy has not been amended at all. Despite this, I have visited several wikis with very high WAM scores and found that they are sporting navigation menus that have been customised through CSS. Additionally, those wikis have been edited by FANDOM staff members after those changes were made, and the customisations were not removed. So, FANDOM, are we allowed to make small CSS edits to the local menus or not? -- Lythronax (leave a message) 17:56, July 21, 2020 (UTC)
