Category and author examples seem messed up? --◄mendel► 01:02, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- I've just created a blog list and this isn't true.
Limiting the amount of summary text shown[]
I'm currently in search of a way to limit the amount of text it show, for a main page sumary of all blogs posts. — TulipVorlax 17:19, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- TulipVorlax: the way is to enter "summarylength=(number)" as a variable in the bloglist tag. Wjxhuang, the 888th Avatar {Talk} 14:34, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Changing the colours[]
How do I change the header color and header font color? It's defaulting to the wikis skin.. //--TehK 19:45, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- TulipVorlax: No problem. :) TehK: Enter
style=
and use normal CSS styling such as "color:" and "background-color:". Wjxhuang, the 888th Avatar {Talk} 09:28, 5 July 2009 (UTC)- I can't get the header color to change though :( //--TehK 21:53, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
Bloglist width[]
Is it possible to vary the width of the bloglist? I don't see it listed as one of the variable parameters. -- yoda8myhead 09:23, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- I believe the style parameter should allow you to do that? e.g.
style="width:600px;"
Kirkburn (talk) 13:34, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- I just tried using the 'style' attribute and it didn't seem to work. Does it work when you try it?

Removing the grey thin border between (and under) blog posts while using 'plain' mode[]
Is there any way to do it? --BramTalk! 15:40, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
Sample image[]
The current sample image depiction is no longer possible with Oasis. -- LordTBT Talk! 17:19, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
Up to date?[]
Is this no longer up to date? The image does not appear to match the code (new skin?), style doesn't work, nor does timestamp. Also, this page wasn't exactly easy to find; it should appear on Special:CreateBlogListingPage. The special page doesn't work right, either. You can't take categories off, it doesn't offer a method for adding authors and the whole bottom half the page is confusing. It's a really neat feature that can't be used to its full potential. I'd love to be able to do some neat stuff with this. Finally, when you fix it and update this page, the option to hide or show avatars and resize them would be nice. — Jedi♥Rogue 03:34, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't Work[]
I've tried several of the solutions explained in the article to create a bloglisting like the one on the Community Central main page, I've even copied their code, but every time I get a default bloglist with the most recent of all blog posts. WarriorLoverInc 23:03, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Never mind, I've puzzled it out. WarriorLoverInc 18:58, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
This is really cool[]
I just tried this feature out; it's amazing! Does anyone know if it works with updated pages rather than blogs, if there is another feature like it, or if I should put in a request for one? Geniusguy445 (talk) 03:54, July 13, 2011 (UTC)
Blogs in multiple Columns[]
Hi guys, I need some help. The blog tags are nice, but I want to put them in columns, like here. But the blogs need to be in chronological order, not copies of each other. Any ideas? Shrev64(Talk • Contribs) 18:03, July 18, 2011 (UTC)
"See more" - how?[]
I've followed the instructions, adding code near the bottom of Familypedia's main page, including a "seemore=". No sign of a "See more" link. How and when is it created? -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 13:11, December 30, 2012 (UTC)
- It looks like "See more" only appears for the default (box) output style, it will appear if you remove the type=plain parameter. --BertH (help forum | blog) 23:19, January 3, 2013 (UTC)
- That's a pity. When I had it on the default style it showed nothing at all, and I concluded that our column (right-hand under the ad box) was too narrow for the box style. Setting it to plain immediately displayed blog text and headings but not "See more". I'll do a comparison with "Civilization" to see if I can discern a secret. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 00:08, January 4, 2013 (UTC)
Images[]
Can we get the first image of the blog article back in the description, please? This format just doesn't look very spiffy, and I dont' think I can get more details from the article using js...
— Nathan (Peteparker) (Earth-1218) (talk • contribs • email) 17:53, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
- When you say 'back' in the description, I assume that it is a general request to add support for it somehow? I don't recall that it has ever been included previously. Kirkburn talk contr 13:47, May 19, 2014 (UTC)
I just wanted to say that I found this page to be very well-written and helpful.
Edit or Delete[]
I've created a bloglist, but cannot edit it nor delete. How is it? Sapador Castelo (talk) 08:20, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
- Hey there, you can delete by going to https://kingdomthegame.fandom.com/wiki/Blog:News?action=delete, and edit it by going to https://kingdomthegame.fandom.com/wiki/Special:CreateBlogListingPage?article=News. noreplyz 09:44, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you so much :)
I'm still heavily dependent on visual links! Sapador Castelo (talk) 15:21, January 2, 2019 (UTC)- Yeah, it's a bit confusing :/ You can send in feedback about this lack of link using Special:Contact/feedback. noreplyz 10:33, January 3, 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you so much :)
Does not work with includeonly[]
The blog listing does not respect <onlyinclude> tags. As a result, blog posts with very complex layouts using templates will have the wrong part displayed in the listing. Is it possible to indicate to the bloglist which part of the post it should display?
- FDekker talk 15:52, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
- The blog listing does not act as template transclusion, but I can see that there's some strange behaviour going on with templates and the transclusion tags. For me, nothing appears when there is a onlyinclude tag. Could you send in a bug ticket using Special:Contact/bug with links to the pages you have had problems with? noreplyz talk 08:03, January 26, 2019 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks!
- FDekker talk 10:46, January 26, 2019 (UTC)- If anyone else finds this: The response I received was that there was a custom algorithm that determined what part of the blog post to display, and that adding the ability to use tags such as includeonly was a non-option because they wanted to keep it simple.

Exclude specific blog[]
Is it possible to hide specific blogs within a bloglist? Yxtqwf (talk) 06:57, June 3, 2019 (UTC)
No more Create button[]
The Create Blog Post button hasn't appeared on Blog:Recent posts since UCP, and appears but no longer functions on custom blog feeds. Is there any plan to change this? Frankly using custom blog feeds as a forum substitute was my last hope for bringing back some basic forum functionality to my wiki after both DPL Forum and Discussions proved to be inadequate replacements for Special:Forum, so it's frustrating that even this solution seems unavailable.
HopelessNightOwl (talk) 21:26, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
- Blogs is disabled in Community Central, so you can't create any more blogs here, but on other wikis, depends on whether they have blogs enabled or not ~ Headquarter8302yeet 00:30, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean, Community Central has blog feeds.
- HopelessNightOwl (talk) 01:38, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Correct, but staff has disabled blog posting to almost everyone, not including themselves. Blogs are now some kind of a news feed, rather than actual "blogs". Here's the blog update explaining the issue ~ Headquarter8302yeet 04:11, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Well the wiki on which I'm experiencing the issue has blogs fully enabled for everyone.
- HopelessNightOwl (talk) 10:48, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Could you link the wiki? Maybe something changed or the button is just manually removed by the admins, and this conversation needs an outdent ~ Headquarter8302yeet 11:18, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- I was an admin there until recently and am still in touch with the admins and we have not knowingly changed anything about blogs.
- HopelessNightOwl (talk) 21:03, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
I see the create blog button on the sandbox, but not on the blog list, maybe FANDOM changed something? ~ Headquarter8302yeet 00:14, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
It's there but it doesn't work for the sandbox listing.

Strange text referencing some button on top of the bloglist[]
When I use the <bloglist>
feature, there is this line of text at the top of the blog: BLOG_LISTING_POST_BUTTON_TEMPLATE
What is it and how do I modify or get rid of it? --User:Kronocracy 11:05, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
