If you've been blocked on one wikia and you don't know why, or you disagree with the reason, stay calm! The last thing you want to do is become disrespectful or argumentative, because that might just make the situation work. If you want to appeal your block, you will want to leave a message for the administrator who blocked you.

The name of the admin who blocked you will appear on the block notice that you see when you try to edit a page. You may be able to contact them by leaving a message on your Message Wall or user talk page, depending on which one that wikia uses. You may still be able to post to your page, depending on whether the administrator has allowed that, and messages you leave on your own page will be seen by the administrators. Your page can be found by following the "My talk" or "Message Wall" link in the drop down menu beneath your name, at the top right of any page.

Sometimes, though, administrators will say no to the block appeal, for a variety of reasons. If this is the case, then you should wait out the block (if it's not permanent) or join another of the many thousands of Wikia communities available.
# Problem with your editing or SITENAME behavior (under any account or IP address) - your account or a connected IP has been used in a problematic way or there is a concern about your editing. The reason should be in the box above.

# Problem with your username - your username was unsuitable and has been blocked, you need to choose another before continuing.

# Unintended triggering of anti-vandalism systems (known as "collateral damage") - your IP address unfortunately happens to match an IP address used by a blocked account. Ask for further information and/or request unblocking. An administrator or checkuser will investigate and consider whether it is likely this has happened.

If you have been blocked from all of Wikia, please send a message to Special:Contact. When you do, include the full block notice that you see when you try to edit, or at the very least the block ID on the notice. Often times, global blocks are not on accounts, but rather users end up being caught in an IP block as a result of a dynamic IP address—meaning their internet provider gave them an IP address that had been used by someone else to make bad edits.

* If instructions are given in the block message, follow them.

* If you have never edited SITENAME before and/or do not have an account, consider requesting one by contacting Wikia, which allows you to edit despite the block on your IP address. Requests to unblock your IP address even if you are innocent will generally not be granted. We apologize for the inconvenience, but you must request an account and log in using that account in order to edit. This is necessary to prevent abusive users who may be using a similar IP address to yours.

* If you wish to appeal the block, or you believe you have been blocked by mistake, please see the following section.

You have many routes to appeal the block or its duration. Firstly, if you are a registered editor and have a valid e-mail address confirmed, you can e-mail the blocking administrator. This feature can be removed if abused.

A block is a measure used to protect a wikia from possible improper activity in breach of editorial policies. Blocks can apply to a user account, an IP address, or a range of IP addresses that is deemed responsible for or related to problematic activity. If you have been blocked, there are a few steps you can take to see about having the block removed.

How do I appeal a local block?

If the administrator has not allowed you to edit on your wall or talk page, you can try leaving them a message on Community Central. They will have a Message Wall on Community Central where you can contact them, and they will receive a notification letting them know that you have left them a message.

Sometimes, though, administrators will say no to the block appeal, for a variety of reasons. If this is the case, then you should wait out the block (if it's not permanent) or join another of the many thousands of Wikia communities available.

How do I appeal a global block?

If you have been blocked from all of Wikia, please send a message to Special:Contact. When you do, include the full block notice that you see when you try to edit, or at the very least the block ID on the notice. Often times, global blocks are not on accounts, but rather users end up being caught in an IP block as a result of a dynamic IP address—meaning their internet provider gave them an IP address that had been used by someone else to make bad edits.

Once you send in the global block request, a Wikia Staff member will review your case and decide whether or not your account or IP address can be unblocked.
