What is a block?

A block is a measure used to protect SITENAME wikis from possible improper activity in breach of editorial policies. Blocks can apply to a user account, an IP address, or a range of IP addresses that is deemed responsible for or related to problematic activity. The reason for your block may be found above.
+
The name of the admin who blocked you will appear on the block notice that you see when you try to edit a page. You may be able to contact them by leaving a message on your Message Wall or user talk page, depending on which one that community uses. You may still be able to post to your page, depending on whether the administrator has allowed that, and messages you leave on your own page will be seen by the administrators. Your page can be found by following the "My talk" or "Message Wall" link in the drop down menu beneath your name, at the top right of any page.

If the administrator has not allowed you to edit on your wall or talk page, you can try leaving them a message on Community Central. They will have a Message Wall on Community Central where you can contact them, and they will receive a notification letting them know that you have left them a message.

# Problem with your editing or SITENAME behavior (under any account or IP address) - your account or a connected IP has been used in a problematic way or there is a concern about your editing. The reason should be in the box above.

Sometimes, though, administrators will say no to the block appeal, for a variety of reasons. If this is the case, then you should wait out the block (if it is not permanent) or join another of the many thousands of communities available.
# Problem with your username - your username was unsuitable and has been blocked, you need to choose another before continuing.

# Unintended triggering of anti-vandalism systems (known as "collateral damage") - your IP address unfortunately happens to match an IP address used by a blocked account. Ask for further information and/or request unblocking. An administrator or checkuser will investigate and consider whether it is likely this has happened.

* If instructions are given in the block message, follow them.

* If you have never edited SITENAME before and/or do not have an account, consider requesting one by contacting Wikia, which allows you to edit despite the block on your IP address. Requests to unblock your IP address even if you are innocent will generally not be granted. We apologize for the inconvenience, but you must request an account and log in using that account in order to edit. This is necessary to prevent abusive users who may be using a similar IP address to yours.

A block is a measure used to protect a community from bad behavior. Blocks can apply to a user account, an IP address, or a range of IP addresses. If you have been blocked, there are a few steps you can take to try and get block removed.

How do I appeal a local block? Edit

If you have been blocked on one community, and you do not know why, or you disagree with the reason, stay calm. The last thing you want to do is become disrespectful or argumentative, because that might just make the situation worse. If you want to appeal your block, you should message the administrator who blocked you.

Sometimes, though, administrators will say no to the block appeal, for a variety of reasons. If this is the case, then you should wait out the block (if it is not permanent) or join another of the many thousands of communities available.

If an administrator on the community is abusing these rights (such as blocking everyone so that no one else can edit, blocking people with reasons that violate the Terms of Use (e.g. racism), or hiding block logs to stir confusion) contact another community administrator or a bureaucrat about the issue. If no one is available to help or if the admin is also a bureaucrat, use Special:Contact to report the issue to Fandom Staff.

How do I appeal a global block? Edit

If you are accidentally caught in a global block targeted towards your username or IP address, please use Special:Contact to contact Fandom staff. In order to effectively locate the block and look into the matter, you must include all of the information in the box you see while you're blocked (which can be seen when you try to edit a page), especially the block ID.

If you are caught in a content block that is blocking addition or modification of content on a page, please use this form and give the most information possible.
