As admins, you have the privilege and opportunity to choose what content is curated from your desktop site onto a Community App. Please note that if you are in the gaming vertical, your curated content will also become available on the Game Guides app simultaneously. However, if you fall into one of the other verticals, you will not be able to curate content unless you already have an individual Community App dedicated to your community. ==Curating Content on your App==

You can curate content for your community from the special page, Special:GameGuidesContent. If your community is not in the gaming vertical, or you do not have an individualized Community App, you will not have access to this special page yet.

Curating your main page for app users
The Community App pulls content directly from your wikia, so to have a great app, we recommend a couple of tips. The most important is clear categorization. If your wikia is categorized properly, setting up the app content will take no more than 15 minutes.

  +
The Mobile Main Page tool allows admins to specify content that will be linked on the main page for app users, as well as the main page seen by visitors on mobile web. Featured and optional categories you add here will also showcase your wiki's content in the Fandom app's wiki tab for your fandom.

Info Page
To ensure that your mobile user finds your wiki via one of our apps, we highly recommend that you take a moment to tell your users about them. We recommend the following ways to spread the word:
Every Community App contains an info page, which provides an image and about section for the wikia. This is pulled from the Special:Promote page. To ensure this looks great on the app, make sure your Special:Promote page is filled out and contains a high resolution image.

* Linking to the app via the desktop main page.

* Community Corner message - Found at MediaWiki:Community-corner on your respective communities. This will send an admin message to all users on your community.
  +
* Make a page or blog post explaining that your wiki can be viewed via the app and add links to where it can be downloaded. Point your community to that page via an announcement notification.
  +
* Link to the app near the top of your Discussions Guidelines.
  +
* Include links in your local navigation via MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation.

We highly encourage you to include links to the app throughout your wiki. Approximately half of your users are already participating with their mobile devices. This optimizes their experience, lets them contribute through Discussions, and increases your community's visibility.

  +
In addition to your wiki content, the Fandom app includes breaking news content on a number of select topics, created and curated by the Fandom editorial team, that complements your wiki's articles and Discussions.
Content List
The content list is what users will use to navigate through your app.

The first step is to open your wikia's Special:GameGuidesContent page. Here you will be presented with an empty form that allows you to add a category and category tag (optional). Below you can see the Special:GameGuidesContent page for the Fallout Wiki.

<big>Tag</big>

The upper level row is called a tag, and is what appears on the top level of the content list. In the screenshot above the tag is in the first and fourth row, which is tan in color. The tags will appear as Fallout 2 and Fallout.

<big>Category</big>

Category names are added to the left column, and when clicked will be what populate the content sub list. The right column allows for you to add a display name that is different than the category name.

*If you choose to leave the right column empty, the category will be named as it appears in the left column.

*In the example of Fallout, the first category is "Fallout_2_quests" and then the display name is "Quests"

To the right of each row is the option to add a photo for the row, delete the row, or to reorder it within the guide. We recommend you add a photo to provide better visualization for the category. To add a new tag or category, use the buttons at the bottom of the page. Tags and Categories can be reorganized by dragging and dropping the entire row from the far right button displaying an up and down arrow.

Once you are done adding, naming, customizing and organizing your content, scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the save button. Changes will be automatically reflected in the Community App.

Promoting your Community App
To ensure the success of this app, we highly recommend that you take a moment to tell your users about it. We recommend the following ways to spread the word:

*Community Corner message - Found at MediaWiki:Community_Corner on your respective communities. This will send an admin message to all users on your community.

*Highlighted Forum post - Found at Special:Forum, this will send a notification to all users on your community.

We highly encourage you to include links to your particular Community Apps. Approximately half of your users are already participating through their mobile devices. This optimizes their experience, makes them happier, and increases your popularity and visibility on Wikia and in google searches.

If you are an admin of your community, then it is especially important for you to know that approximately half of the visits across Fandom are coming from mobile devices. To support that mobile traffic, Fandom is offering a number of iOS and Android apps.

We recommend using the unified Fandom App for iOS or Android for the best, most up-to-date mobile experience. To see a list of Fandom's Community Apps, visit the Google Play Store.

Curating your main page for app users

The Mobile Main Page tool allows admins to specify content that will be linked on the main page for app users, as well as the main page seen by visitors on mobile web. Featured and optional categories you add here will also showcase your wiki's content in the Fandom app's wiki tab for your fandom.

Promoting the app for your mobile users

To ensure that your mobile user finds your wiki via one of our apps, we highly recommend that you take a moment to tell your users about them. We recommend the following ways to spread the word:

We highly encourage you to include links to the app throughout your wiki. Approximately half of your users are already participating with their mobile devices. This optimizes their experience, lets them contribute through Discussions, and increases your community's visibility.
