From time to time, Fandom will perform what is called A/B Testing. The purpose of this testing is to gather data on how slight changes to the platform impact usage. That data is then used in development decisions.
Due to the nature of such testing, we cannot announce a test or even disclose the parameters while the test is running, unless something goes wrong. To do so would introduce bias into the testing, decreasing the data quality and usability.
