Why caching pages at disk cache does not wok anymore on IE even if I enable "Disk Cache" on my preferences. I have tried to navigate off-line on my different machines but it s just impossible!Dionysos 13:54, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, there are some HTTP headers that prevent cache:
Cache-Control: private, s-maxage=0, max-age=0, must-revalidate
Expires: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT
They may be fine where logged-in, but without being logged in the response headers are the same. --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 15:03, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

I have logged in on many machines with IE, but it is the same and pages do not cache... Would you try please to navigate totally off-line to see if that happens to your pc too?Dionysos 15:15, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it happens to me on Firefox, logged-out. --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 15:18, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

This problem appeared some weeks ago on Explorer 7... I am getting LEAK entries on index.dat for every wikia entry, with:

X-Powered-By: PHP/5.1.6

Content-Language: en

Content-Encoding: gzip

Content-Length: 8794

Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8

X-Cache: MISS from www.wikia.com

X-Cache-Lookup: MISS from www.wikia.com:80

X-Cache: MISS from www.wikia.com

X-Cache-Lookup: MISS from www.wikia.com:80

I think there is a problem related to the new php engines and mediawiki wikia is using, somehow IE does not get it very well. May be it does not get the gzip format...

The edit "pencil" of the ie7 toolbar (to edit a page with an external browser) button has being disabled too by the update!

I invite anyone to try out navigating wikia with off-line settings, please inform about kinds of explorers and operative systems!Eros del Fuego 21:01, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
