The following is text sent to my email account from Shoutwiki: "Dear Wikia administrator,

Do you and your community miss Monaco skin?

I want you to know that ShoutWiki has enabled the popular Monaco skin for all wikis. The skin will be freely available for all users on all wikis until 1 July 2011, after which it will be made an ordinary premium (paid) feature. More information: URLSCRUBBED

You can also download and install the Monaco port (a port based on the Wikian skin Monaco) for your wikia. See details here: URLSCRUBBED -- Best Regards, WikiaVisitor"

I just want ShoutWiki to know that this unsolicited email is regarded by me as spam. Is anyone else getting this?   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   23:55, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

It's sent by those AWA members. It's quite futile replying to them, so just flag it as spam.- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 00:15, January 4, 2011 (UTC)
This is not being sent out by ShoutWiki. It is more likely to be sent out by an AWA member, as always. (I'll see who is doing this, and will ask them to stop!) Frozen Wind 03:47, January 4, 2011 (UTC)
Whether it's ShoutWiki or someone acting in their name, obviously it's unacceptable spamming. Last time it was Anno1404, so it may be that it was him again.
I'd hoped that first incident was a one off, but with this repeat we've limited the use of Special:Emailuser (for now, to two mails per day per user) and are considering what other steps to take. Apologies to everyone affected, we certainly don't want you spammed by anyone via our systems -- Sannse (help forum | blog) 17:53, January 4, 2011 (UTC)
